  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart

Is it possible to retexture games on other consoles.

I was just wondering if it was possible to retexture other games from other systemes, like retexturing psx or snes nes dc games. If its possible to retexture n64 games, then why wouldnt it be possible to retexture snes or nes.

And how would it work, like is it possible to use the rice video plugin on different systeme emu's.

I think it would be pretty cool if you could retexture NES games. PSX games would be pretty hard though, as the way the data gets fed to the machine is pretty messy.

That's pretty cool, but it's still at the same resolution/color palette limitations of the original.

Pete Bernert said PSX retexturing like Rice's plugin cannot work due to the way the console renders 3D. Of course, romhacking may be a way to change textures in PSX games, but requires a lot of expertise.

However, for other consoles more advanced than an N64, it may be possible in a similar way to Rice's plugin.

MVS/AES from SNK could be a good candidate... at least; all the hacks around the web suggest that is possible.

From technical side it's piece of cake, but if you want to do this you need to be at least as good as SNK artist(s) who did original graphics. It's much more complicated than working with small and primitive textures in 3D games.
