Huge zelda problem

I played the game fine all the way to gannons castle but i cant lift the large blocks you need the silver gauntlets to lift. I have the gauntlets and i can move the square ones you can push but i theres a glitch when the grab icon comes up and i press A nothing happens.
Please tell me theres a way to fix this!

you need the Golden Gauntlets to lift the large blocks.

they are in Ganons Castle (its ganon btw,.. Gannon was a translation issue in the original game, Legend of Zelda.)
