What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart

How to edit texture files?

I downloaded a hi res texture pack for ocarina of time. I made a folder in the project 64 plugin and zipped all the files from the package into it. The texture pack works great, and I went into the folder I made with the hi res files and I found all the images used to retexture the game.

I tried to play around with the textures and try to retexture them myself. However, everytime I try to save the file after editing the image the edit is denied.

can anyone explain to me how to edit these files?
Thanks :)

The user modifying the files must have write access to the files. Simplest way is probably to run your texture editing program as an administrator.

There could also be a conflict with Project 64 since it's loading those files. Of course, also try running the image editor as an administrator like Toasty said, and make sure your OS grants you permission to modify the files. What OS are you using?
