How come the 2d backgrounds of Zelda never display properly?

So far, PJ64 is the only emu I've used that displays them properly, even when I use Jabo's 3D plugin for 1964 they don't display properly.

You need to use the RSP plugin. Copy the RSP.dll file from the PJ64 folder into the 1964 folder and enable it from the plugin selection screen.
