Help with using keyboard as controller

When I get to this point on Zelda in the Water Temple, my keyboard won't allow the long hookshot to stop on the target. It skips over it no matter what I do. It is like there is a certain grid that the red dot has to follow. What can I do? Is there any way to use your mouse as the direction keys?

Switch to NRage's plugin for the controller. That'll slow it down enough to let you aim (I had the same problem). Then just switch back when you pass that specific part.

I have a better idea. Stick with n-rage's input plugin.
By slowing down "N64 control stick range", you can aim a little better. Then set it back again.
