Help me i have problem when i open PJ64

Hi,

when i open PJ64 i get this error message:

Graphic Error:
Direct 3D failed to intialize
Error Code: 8876086A
D3DERR_NOT AVAILABLE

then when i click ok i get another error message it says

the default or selected video plugins is missing or invalid.

Check that you have atleast one compatible plugin files in your plugin folder.

and i have PJ64 1.6 and my plugins are

Video Graphic Plugin:
Jabo's Direct3D 8 1.6

Audio Sound Plugin:
Jabos' DirectSound 1.6

Input controller plugin:
Jabo's Direct input7 1.6

please tell me how to solve that because i did a system recovery to my computer last night and this happened after i did the system recovery on my computer.

After reinstalling my operating system, I found out that I get the same error as above:

i've tried reinstalling my video card drivers although it has not solved the problem! Please can you help?

the error msgs could be clearer here for newbies:

the first is the video plugin telling you it couldn't start
the second is the application telling you the video plugin didn't start so it can't start any emulation.

if you can't get the video plugin to initialise (which is a your system problem), then you'll have to try a different video plugin. first try the D3D6 video plugin, which is included, then if that won't start either, try a 3rd party plugin... we can't help with that though.

edit: to get Jabo's to start try (re)installing DirectX latest aswell

this badly needs to go into FAQ or something..

After installing Directx9................

After installing DirectX 9 latest it worked! :bouncy: ALTHOUGH now there is a crackling sound problem which was not there previously.

Sound card:
Creative Soundblaster

Audio plugin:
Jabo's Direct Sound 1.6
