Having a problem configuring controller

[JBurzum]

I'm not new to PJ64 and have never really had any problems with any of the versions. I just got 1.6 and it's worked great for the last week I've had it. Just yesterday, though, the "down" and "right" button settings in the player 1 configuration won't work or won't recognize the buttons being pushed to set them. I hit the set button and it just counts down and won't set what I push. It does, however, recognize it in the other player slots. Should I just reinstall or is this a common thing?

this is a very odd problem,

i've never had such a problem.

i myself when setting it to keyboard set it like this

Digital
Up arrow
Down arrow
Left arrow
Right arrow

Analogue
Keypad 8
Keypad 4
Keypad 6
Keypad 2

A - A
B - S
Z - Z

Left Trigger - Q
Right Trigger - W

C buttons
R - Up
D - Left
F - Right
C - Down

Try setting the buttons to another controller, save it's profile and load it on player 1's configuration screen.
