Geforce 6 on AGP 4x???

A friend of mine wants to upgrade to a Geforce 6 series card. However his mobo is AGP 4x. The question is how much perfomance would he lose using a Geforce 6 AGP8x(for example a 6600) on his AGP4x mobo? And btw, he doesn't have the money to upgrade all his rig to a PCI-E compliant mobo and stuff.

I doubt it will be any loss from only using 4x agp as far as i have heard.it should be fine.

No loss at all. At least not when I tried it. My old Athlon was 4x AGP, my new P4 is 8x AGP and there is no difference at all.....then again, I'm not playing cutting edge games....

lol, I'm very stupid, to test that, I only have to change the AGP thing on the BIOS, or even in the nVidia control panel
