framerate with n64 emulator

Well even though the emulator says i get 50-60fps on teh n64 game, but it doesnt really feel like it sometimes. like in goldeneye or perfect dark when there is a lot of enimies or thiongs going on its gets kinda choppy. it did that with the n64 version also but not to the extent in large areas. is this normal, even though my system is way over the n64?

ati radeon 9800 pro
1.5GB ram

i can say ur system isn't the problem, i can run sm 64 @ a 1ghz 32mb tnt2

its only on certain games.. i can play zelda orcania of time smoothly.. which is like sm64

Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are the most intensive games for emulation. You might try them with 1964 (has a faster core). You can still use the PJ64 plugins.

Thats really a common misconception: 1964 core is'nt faster it's just more stable.

The 1964 core is faster but less stable. Also, N64 emulation cannot "fix" slowdowns present on the real hardware.
