Yes, for 98 ME 2k XP and .NET untill Jan 8 2003.
So, hopefully Microsoft releases the final DX9 before that date, or else you will have to adjust your clock or something.

No virus, the dxwebsetup.exe comes from Microsoft, when you click the exe it connects to Microsoft's beta-site.

And if it sees that you are not a member of that microsoft beta site it screw up your computer

yeah same here, im sick of getting these "update direct x" messages after a month or 2 after installing, i already got a beta patch for directX8, which was supost to reduce lags in games, and its bloody anoying when i keep getting this update message, is there anyway to get rid of it?
