Controler compatability for SSF?

Is there a way to use a controller with SSF emulator? It worked with every other emulator I tried with including a Genesis, SNES (ZNES), Nintendo (JNES), and some playstation emulator. I can't seem to get SSF to work with controllers. Is there a way to make it work? Or is there another emulator with controller compatability?

I really want to use a controller. Some games are just near unplayable without a controller.

Have you even tried setting it up? Just press the buttons on the controller when the emulator asks for up, down, left, right, a,b,c, etc. on its controller setup screen. SSF uses Directinput so any gamepad will work on it.

Hmmmm, my controller works perfectly fine on SSF. Could it be that you're using an older version of SSF that doesn't allow controller usage?

There should be no problems with any controller for the reason that borisz mentioned. Your controller wouldn't a MadCats one by any chance, would it?
