I don't know why, but now, whenever I start Project 64 (version 1.6) it tells me the audio plugin is "missing or invalid". It then opens up the plugins menu. I select Jabo's Direct Sound 1.6, it seems to accept, and it opens my ROMs menu. But, whenever I try to play a ROM it tells me "plugins have not successfully initialised."
I've tried the same thing with zilmar's Audio Plugin, and got the same results.
I look in the plugins folder in the Project 64 programme folder, and all of the plugins appear to be present, so I know they aren't missing. I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling Project 64, and that didn't help.
I don't know what might have brought this on, and it's been a while since I last used the emulator, so I don't know when this might have started.
