I know that most of you (if not all) are not concern by this but it is so horrific that i think that i have to post it in each place i can...
As you may know, Jean Marie le Pen (a fascist) have been qualified for the second round of the french presidential election. It was really sad for me to hear that 50 years after the WW2 a fascist has the possibility to become the president of the french state. There's still a hope, because in france, there's two round for the presidential election. So, if you are french and have more than 18 years (or if you know anybody that is, send him the message), DON'T FORGET ON THE 25th MAY TO VOTE AGAiNST LE PEN. Please (even if you are a socialist, communist or what you want) vote for Jacques CHIRAC.

And again, I am sorry to polute this forum but i think this has to be said.

I whole-geartedly agree. I am not french, but the idea of someone like Jean Mari le Pen as presidents kinda frightens me. It could upset the whole EU, which is struggling even now.
Anyway I like Chirac, imo he has done a good job.

im not happy with chirac at all actually but even as a socialist myself i would support him to avoid le pen becoming president. that would be an even bigger catastrophy than the fact alone that hes gotten so far. its an alarming situation in europe as a whole, that so many extremist rightwingers/fascists (like in austria, italy and now almost france) have gotten into government.

as a jew it shits me up. im sure he wont get in, now that ppl realise how serious things hav got. but i just hope a rise of nationalism doesnt occur around the rest of europe.

I'm not French either, but the French election have just as much an impact on the US as US elections have on France. It is in the interest of both nations to get rid of Le Pen. I think he won't cooperate well with any other nation.

i was watching the news down here and they were saying how there was riots against him and that the is no chance possible that he will be elected

he does have quite a bit of support, but nowhere near the levels that would win an election... that said i wouldnt like to see him win presidency, chirac is alright, he hasnt ruined france in the last few years so i guess voting for him would be the option for most french people who dont want an extreemist in charge

You're right, this man hate the USA, and the Europe. In 1991, he claimed that the france army must defend the Iraq against the USA (one of his best friend is Saddam Hussein). In the past we see him claimed on TV : "i believe on the race's inegality" and another day "the jew's genocide is just a little detail of the WW2's history" and many other examples.

If there's anyone curious about what he want to make if he become president :
- he wants to abandon the euro money to come back to our old money.
- he wants to left out of the ONU
- he wants to restore the europe economic border.
- he wants to restore the military service (to 3 years)
- of course he wants to put out all the foreign people
- he wants to stop any commercial exchange with the USA.

and many other terrific things like that....

yeah, I just finished a gcse history course on Hitler and lies and the population's apathy towards him are the main reasons he got into power. don't sit back and let him take over

only thing i agree with there is middle finger to the euro money... everything else seems stupid, especially extraditing immagrants, who usually have the lowest paid hardest working jobs, propping up the economy
