raw fpu power. (note that it took extensive tweaking to achieve this)
jeez, i'm blad i'm with amd too!![]()
-Abit kr7a-raid
-1.4 ghz athlon xp
-Geforce 4: abit siluro ti4400
-Sound Blaster Extigy
-Logitech Z-560 4.1 speakers
-512 ddr ram
-202gigs of hard drive space
-420 watt power supply
-Winxp pro
See you at the party Rickter!!
-Total Recall, Arnold Schwarzenegger
Um, Use Newsgroups
I always knew deep down that there wasn't a pentium that could beat an amd cpu running at the same clock speed![]()
Isn't your processor running at 600mhz though? If so, then the P3-600 would be the fairer comparison... and methinks that would win.
it was, but i didnt realize how hot it was getting, so it's at 550
now, with a voltage of 2.6 (higher volts increase speed for some reason) but i've got a sufficient cooling system![]()

amd ownz j00 :colgate: You've got to realize tht the p3 was released a while after the k6-2, while the k6-2 has a very bad fpu, and look how close it comes in comparison to the p3's fpu! the k6-2 even beat it substantially in the mips test! thing that gets me is that the k6-2 was only meant to compete with the p2, so if you think about it, amd did a damn fine job.![]()

The via chips are ment to be a cheap and very cool alternative for CPUs, a C3 chip is way less hot then any other brand out today. Though it is lacking in almost all areas, a plus is their math core is extreamily accurateOriginally posted by cooliscool

Quitters never Win, Winners never Quit; but those who never Win and never Quit are generally banned EmuTalk members.
hehe, i knew that much, you can run them without a heatsink or a fan (0.13 micron technology), and they will still be stable as ever, but obviously suck ass in floating point math operations.![]()
Damn, now i feel ashamed to have a P4...![]()
