  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
    We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
    Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

    If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
    Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
    If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
    RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

Glide64 loading issues

I am attempting to use Glide64 to run the Legend of Zelda Cel Shaded pack(even though it's more like a WW style pack), and I'm running into issues with it.

Whenever I boot the rom, it appears to be loading, bringing up a screen that says the following;

LOADING TEXTURES. PLEASE WAIT...
[149]total mem:0.08mb - THE LEGEND OF ZELDA_MEMORYCACHE.dat

Following, the game loads with the default textures.


I am running Glide64 'final' (May 8, 2012) with Rice format, alpha channel fully, compressing the texture cache, with compression while saving the texture cache to disk. I am using Project64 2.0.0.14 public in administrator mode with Vista compatibility and have a 300MB cache. A folder called 'cache' exists in my plugin folder, hosting THE LEGEND OF ZELDA_MEMORYCACHE.dat and THE LEGEND OF ZELDA_HIRESTEXTURES.dat

Maybe you didn't install Glide properly.
Make sure Glide HQ is in the GFX folder.
Or download another version of Glide 64, Final has many bugs (at least on my PC)

check the texture cache filename for any errors, its not even being looked at.

Texture compression settings must match those the cache was created with btw.
