If so, then it is probably a non-working patch or it didn't get applied. You can also use the sub-reading or whatever it's called. It works too.

Ok...It's working...I guess it just took hell of a lot of time to load...
but now I have two problem... everytime an FMV ends there is a lot of 'gurbege' on the screen (pixilised squareish thingies)...
and the sound is rather glitchy
    For graphics I use:

    Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.1.75
    Author: Pete Bernert

GFX card: RADEON 9800 Pro x86/SSE2

    - 800x600 Fullscreen - NO desktop changing [32 Bit]
    - Keep psx aspect ratio: off

    Textures:
    - R8G8B8A8
    - Filtering: 6
    - Hi-Res textures: 2
    - VRam size: 128 MBytes

    Framerate:
    - FPS limitation: off
    - Frame skipping: off
    - FPS limit: 50

    Compatibility:
    - Offscreen drawing: 4
    - Framebuffer texture: 3
    - Framebuffer access: 4
    - Alpha multipass: on
    - Mask bit: on
    - Advanced blending: on

    Misc:
    - Scanlines: off

    - 15 bit FB: off
    - Dithering: on

    For sound I use:
    EternalSPU Plugin 1.41
Enebled XA, CDDA, and SPU IRQ
    In plugin config:
    Audio devise:
    Directsound Buffer size:64
Audio out method: SPUasync Async mode:smooth

FF IX is known to be glitchy when it comes to emulation. I got a friend who says that he got it to work glitch free after he burned an ISO of it. Dunno, might work. I haven 't tried it, but it might be worth a try.

FF IX is a wicked game, but most of the RPG playing people I know don't like it for some reason. I thought that game was sweet.

My friend's dog chewed up my PSX a while back (grrrrr...) and I managed to beat the whole game in PSXeven with very few glitches (the movies were pretty jerky sometimes, but not bad for not being a real PSX). BTW, I agree with tye stik - awesome game.

EDIT: Melonman64 - try out different plugins and settings. You can get just about any game working if you take time to play around with it and get the configuration right.

Lol, a dog ATE a playstation? Teaches you not to have dogs, hah
I've gotten it to work pretty much flawlessly in epsxe 1.5.2. No glitches in movies, perfect sound and framebuffer effects and whatnot, afaik, as I can remember.
It can be pretty tough though, since that is what ps emulation is.

Don't know if this'll help, but here's my current ePSXe 1.5.2/1.6.0 config:

    Plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 2.6
Videocard: eVGA GeForce FX 5700 LE w/256MB DDR 400
    AGP Aperture Speed: 8x

    Fullscreen Mode: 1280x1024
    Window mode: 1024x768

Internal X resolution: 0 Low Native PSX resolution
Internal Y resolution: 0 Low Native PSX resolution

Texture Filtering: 6: Extended +smoothed sprites
    Hi-Res textures: 0: None (standard)

Use FPS limit: On FPS limit: set to 60 (if it's a PAL game, 50)
    Off-screen Drawing: 1: Standard
    Framebuffer Effects: 3: Full
    Famebuffer upload: 1: Standard

    Screen Filtering: Enabled
    Shader Effects: 5: GLSlang Files
    Flicker Fix Boarder: 0
    Shader Level: 1 - Minimum

    Scanlines: disabled
    MDEC Filter: enabled
    Disable Screensaver: enabled
    GF4/WinXP crash fix: enabled
Special Game Fixes: Yes (0x0002: Ignore Small Frambuffer
    Moves)

I use this for very optimal performance, try not to
set the default GPU settings to "Nice" or "Fast" as this
can create more performance problems than it fixes.

If this doesn't help, I apologize in advance.
