the 32-bit core is real good.

one thing. this ini business is very annoying. some one changed half the games to NO CHECK, and so a bunch of games dont work, unless obviously u put it ont to PROTECT MEMORY. no prob for me, but some newbies wouldnt havv a clue...nothing really to do specifically with the new release.

I feel sort of mixed on the subject of a 1964 INI.

I think we all know just about how compatible jabo's plugin is and know what to expect
1964 can only do as much as duplicate the results on their core which (imo) is somewhat pointless to write an INI for

I'd rather see an INI based on schibo/rice's OGL plugin but if they plan to scrap their OGL and do a LLE plugin from scratch then you really can't do much until it gets to a good compatible state worth writing an INI for.

Plus a 1964 INI would be like no other i've studied. the CF levels will vary from computer to computer in what the user will prefer and differnet input/audio plugins seem to affect the compatibility as well making it extremely complex.

and there are only around 900 or something good dumps, and most users only have the euro/usa versions unless its a jap-only game. so theres around only 650 roms or so that you would need to write a fairly complete an INI. the ammount on entries don't mean much in my eyes if they aren't correct and the author spent 2 seconds playing the game on defaults and not tweaking with them a little to make sure the results are accurate (or close to right).

i think uve hit the problem. everyone uses different settings. i still think there should be a basic ini setting all the correct sefl-mod codes, linking, etc .

ini's for .7.3 and beyond

that's why in another thread i've suggested 2 diff inis. one for high level systems (athlon gf2) and one for lower systems (p2 worse 3d card than a gf2).

at least then there would be an ini for every user that "out of box" would work pretty good on their system.

The ability to import PJ64 save states is great as I am quite afr on in a few games using PJ64 and it was stopping me from playing them on 1964 when it handles some better e.g. no flickering at all with Paper Mario.

As PJ64 automatically zips the save state to save room would it be possible for 1964 to recognise them zipped as well, I mean its hardly a problem but just sometihng that would be nice.

Cheers

good news and bad news

the good news is that 1964 doesnt crash anymore in ISS 2000(weird gfx exception, didnt happen in pj, so i assumed its 1964) i could continue with 1 million clicks (really) in the error window. Used the 073 patch --> no more crashes in ISS2000 but from one second to another the emu slows down to 2-4 fps and i cannot save anymor via F5 ! also my whole machine behaves like that. i MUST kill 1964 to continue "working". After restarting 1964 everything fine, few minutes later: suuuper slooowmotion

anyone else sees this

is that really a 2?

does that really say azi .20? try the new azis. .30 rev 2.2 seems the most compat, but some games are better orig .30 and some with the new unsupported beta .40.

one problem

i seem to have a problem with 1964 version 0.7.2 and 0.7.3

it crashes;)

but. i can't seem to figure out why. you might even say it isn't 1964 that crashes. let me explain

i downloaded .7.2, used the auto extracter and it did the exe file then stopped. i decided to use winzip, but after doing the exe it again crashed. i finally realised if i left the computer for about a min or 2 it will continue it's business. but now... every time i access the folder with 1964 in it, run 1964, run a rom, doing pretty much anything with 1964 it crashes. i thought this might be related to that big problem with it crashing whilst using a menu whilst also running a game... but i wasn't running a game. also, same thing happens with 0.7.3

any help please? oh, and, i have the status cpu usage thingy unchecked. here are my specs also

win98se
16 mb nvidia tnt
256 sdram
450mhz PIII

yeah.

thanks.

okay then. that sounds good i think i guess......

i downloaded the 0.7.2 file from www.arcadeathome.com then the 0.7.3 patch from the official site of 1964... but i guess the 0.7.2 could have somehow corrupted it.

Asus A7M266 DDR (Socket A Motherboard)
Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum
512MB DDR at 133Mhz
ATI Radeon 8500 (64MB) AGP,

This is strange because the screen is Black but there is sound still coming out, but with Zelda MM its fine.
OOT with Jabo's Direct3D6 1.30 works fine !
I have updated my Drivers & still it happens ?

This happens on Both Win2K & Xp
