View Full Version : Where'd you guys get your Avatars (logos)?

May 30th, 2002, 08:18
I want a spiffy pic too! I don't know how to get one...

Sorry if I'm being a bit stoopud on this one.

May 30th, 2002, 08:24
I made my own. 5 min tops.

May 30th, 2002, 08:53
Yep most make their own. I just grabbed some sprite and enlarged it to fit the limitations. :D
There are certain limitations to the avatar:

"Note: the maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 40000 bytes (whichever is smaller)."

To set an avatar go to http://www.emutalk.net/member.php?s=&action=editoptions

Screenie of the SSB character select screen, open up in the GIMP Win32 port, scale it to avatar size, erase "LINK" very carefully and repaint in the right stuff, blur to hide the coverup, sharpen to fix the blur, bumpmap @depth 3 sinusoidial to also help the blur, then JPEG at ~75% :P

PH33R MY EDITING SKILLZ... took 2 hours but IMO it looks pretty good :) Can't notice the spot where the name was, now can you...?

My designer avatar was made professionally by me. If you require a custom made avatar, i'll design one based on your requirements for a miniscule £12.99 - €16.00 - $15.50

<-- So... I first made a screenshot of Zelda64. Then opened the pic in Photoshop, cut the most important part (HEHE), made it transperent, used a cool stencil effect.... and here it is - the BIG N.

Do you guys remember the avatar I had of Link from the GC (cel-shaded)???????
It took me a LOOOOOONG time to make it. I used Fireworks too.
I first took a picture of Link with a very bad quality, imported it to fireworks and started to change PIXEL BY PIXEL.
But nobody liked it, so I changed to a Mario avatar by the same way. I've also tried to do some other avatars of Nintendo games for fun, and I'm keeping them for when the time comes to change my avatar again.

June 19th, 2002, 19:48
