Hello everyone. Recently I have found myself working on re-texturing Majora's Mask. I love what Djipi has done so far but I was disappointed that most of the UI had been left out. So I set out to do a complete re-texture of the UI in Majora's Mask. I have mostly completed that, but I have gone a bit further as I found re-texturing to be rather interesting. Most of these textures I have made are original, and some are from other various texture packs. Texture packs such as Djipi's cel-shaded Ocarina of Time, as well as the Real Ocarina of Time project have ported or edited versions of their textures brought into this pack. I give credit to these authors as well as much thanks as I sometimes merely used Photoshop to port over their work when it comes to these specific textures. Either way I have spent a great deal of time on this texture pack as a whole and I thought it would be nice to share that hard work.

A HUGE thanks to the creator of HighresEaser as without it I would not have completed this project. I used this photoshop plugin literally hundreds of times.

Also thank you to many who contributed to the OoT community pack as some of those textures were ported to this pack.

UPDATE 1.0:
I've finished the pack now and the download link is available below. There are 5748 textures taking up about 407MB of disk space. As far as I know the game is nearly 100% retextured. This project took me several months of work and I was very thorough. I hope this pack makes the game more enjoyable for everyone. A great thank you goes out to Djipi and mdta for allowing the use of textures made by them in this pack. Below are screenshots from the completed pack.

Majora's Mask is best played with Glide64 Napalm WX release, it is the only plugin I have found that emulates every aspect of the game correctly. If any other plugin is used many textures will not load. Also it is imperative that you do NOT check the "alternative CRC calculation" option or a large chunk of textures will not load.

Update:
The settings for this game/texture pack have given many people grief, so below are screenshots of the settings I use. I have played the game several times through with these settings and can confirm that they provide the best overall Majora's Mask Hi-Res experience.
http://imageshack.us/scaled/thumb/43/settings0.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/43/settings0.jpg/)http://imageshack.us/scaled/thumb/716/settings1o.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/716/settings1o.jpg/)http://imageshack.us/scaled/thumb/834/settings2j.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/834/settings2j.jpg/)http://imageshack.us/scaled/thumb/838/settings3.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/838/settings3.jpg/)

This last one is really the only one relevant to textures, but some of the other settings do have bearing on whether or not menus and the lens of truth function properly.

Enjoy the pack everyone!

Old Stuff:

After I finished the UI I jumped right into the third dungeon, Great Bay Temple. I re-textured the entire temple including monsters and all the effects I could find, and this is pretty much where I left off. I felt that with a complete UI, and a bit more, I should upload what I have done thus far and let the good people at EmuTalk try out these new textures.

These are designed to work alongside Djipi's textures so these screenshots contain Djipi's work in them as well. The download contains only the textures I have worked on.

Hrm, while the premise is good. I can't tell what your going for. Theres parts that cel-shaded and parts that are really realistic and detailed. If you mix two different styles then the game ends up looking really strange. Just my two cents. Chances are some people will re-do Majora's Mask from scratch, without Djipi's stuff. Thats probably the best way to do it.

Its generally polite to ask before taking the work of others and adding or messing with them...

This has been a lot of work and I have done a TON of unique texturing, although I suppose I see your point. Until I receive permission from certain sources I will refrain from releasing any updates.

I'm willing to turn this into a group project if the other authors would like; I have quite a bit of time to work on this. Or if I can simply get permission I would release a complete pack once it is finished.

I'd like to continue working on this, but whether or not it gets released is variable.

Is nice to see some action in Majora Mask, awesome job!. Would also be nice if a group of dudes help you out in this project, most of the attention is focused in Ocarina Of Time but is also nice to see some love in Majora Mask.

Your work is very much apreciated man, keep up the awesome work!

Well for what its worth, you have my permission to use any of my UI work from Djipi's pack, with a credit in the game. To use Djipi's textures, you will need to ask him for permission.

Great to hear from Djipi and mdta. I'm glad that you're going to let me use your textures for this project. Now that I have permission I am happy to announce that I am at least halfway done with the entire game as of now. It will certainly not be done for several weeks, but I am working quite religiously to finish the pack. I will try to post some screenshots of my work later in the week as a preview. Thank you all for waiting patiently.

Patiently waiting for this. Personally I like MM more than OoT, and while I think OoT is a great game, I don't really understand all the infatuation surrounding it.

Glad to see this game getting some love. Remember that there are a lot of people waiting for this but not necessarily posting. Please take your time and make the quality as high as you can!

Just checked it out and I must say I love what you've done with it. These textures are top notch and really stand out from the majority of packs I've used before. I especially like how the spin attack looks. The blue and orange versions are differentiated from each other in animation and color (the orange one looking even more boss). I just have two gripes for the moment:

I don't like how the hookshot icon was changed to resemble that of the OoT version. I think you should've left it with the design it had in MM (but as hi-res texture, of course).
Link's eyes look strange, almost cat-like. He looks more like an alien and not so much like a boy.

I haven't explored the pack thoroughly yet but it looks pretty slick so far.

@BLluedart did you get the artists permission to use there work in your pack, just looked at the icons in the screenshot and they look a lot like Feddereli's work or have being taking from the Community Retexture Project.
@HDL that's because the hook shot icon IS the one from OoT.... And I know for fact he did no make it.

The work used in the Community Retexture Project is only for use in it unless you have gained the permission of the artist that created it as taking from other projects and using it in your own without even a glimpse of the creators name is quite demoralizing and makes people think, what is the point of doing this.

@HDL that's because the hook shot icon IS the one from OoT.....

Right, that's why I mentioned it...

bluedart, I noticed a few minor things with this pack.

The title screen shows 1998-2010 at the bottom. This game was released in 2000, so it should say 2000-2010.
The Skull Kid's drawing isn't on the tree anymore.
When running the GC version rom, the year copyright textures are the originals. The very top of the quest status screen also uses original textures (doesn't load the new ones like with the 64 version rom).
Every body of water looks like it's running quickly, even in areas where it's supposed to be still.
On the second day, the sky should be completely covered with clouds. It looks pretty strange seeing it rain heavily with only a partly cloudy sky.
Hope you get that permissions stuff sorted out soon, if any. It'd be great to see the pack improved upon. :)

Hello everyone, it's nice to see some love for this painstakingly crafted pack. At this time I would like to address some of your comments.

- The current OoT pack I'm using I downloaded from some third-party website that credited nobody so I wasn't sure who to credit with textures I used from it such as the stalchildren. I have edited my first post to give credit to the OoT community pack because of this.
- I finished this pack in record time - it took me about 2 months of near non-stop work and in my haste I used several textures that were already done for OoT to speed up the process. Sorry for the inconvenience my hasty plagiarism may have caused. Still, a good 90% of this pack is my original work so let's not condemn it as it really does improve the game by quite a margin - AND it is free of charge. Basically I am releasing what I did on my own computer for fun to the public to get as much enjoyment out of it as I did.
- I can assure you that the hookshot icon was 100% designed from scratch by me. Seriously, all I did was make a red circle in photoshop, throw a random pattern on it and put a black stroke of about 10 pixels on the outside. If this particular texture looks similar to another it is mere coincidence.
- I see, for some reason the year says 1998-2010. Yes, that is wrong.
- As for the comment about quickly flowing water; I do not control the flow of the water, the game does that and I did not even notice this anomaly. If someone has a fix for this I will gladly post it.
- I was not aware that there is a "GC version rom" lingering about, but I can tell you that it is not supported. The US version of the original rom was used in making this pack and that is the only rom for which it underwent testing. On a side note, what is the upside to using this "GC version rom?"
- Thank you for bringing the sky to my attention. I noticed in Majora's Mask that there are two and only two skies - one I deemed was a normal, partly-cloudy sky and the other I obviously misdiagnosed as being a mostly clear sky. In fact the sky is one of the earliest things on which I spent my time. I ported djipi's sky textures and did not bother to redo them at a later time with a realistic feel. If someone would like to texture these skies and post a small addendum I would be more than willing to edit the first post with your name(s) and files. I will not be editing the main 400MB pack again though as uploading it took a few days of trying.

Thank you all for your comments and feedback.

Sorry, I thought you supported the GC version too since the changed colors appear with hi-res textures. For example, the GC version has the A button green and the B button red. The text icons (arrows, etc.) are also green to match the Cube controller's green A button, as opposed to the 64's blue one.

I'm surprised you didn't know this version of the game existed. It was included in the Zelda Collector's Edition (http://mnrukat.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/zeldace.jpg) disc.

I actually have that disc lying around my house; I remember that was the first time I got to play Majora's Mask. It was a shame that it crashed occasionally when I played it for more than a few hours at a time without saving. Hopefully that hasn't carried over into the rom. I'm surprised that someone managed to extract a 64 rom out of there though. If you'd like you can post some screenshots of what doesn't work and I'll take a look at them. If it's just a simple adaptation it might not take too long to fix.

Sure, here you go:

http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h10/LordHDL/Quest.png

As far as I'm aware, this version of the game is exactly the same, minus a few bugs and the color changes (possibly some minor texture changes). Many people (myself included) encountered the freezing issue of the Collector's Edition because the game isn't properly emulated on the GC. With an emulator like Project64, compatibility should be just about the same as the original rom.

As for which textures don't load properly, I haven't played the GC one thoroughly enough to see if there are others besides these two screenshots, but from what I did see most of the textures load normally.

Hey bluedart, I really admire your work and this looks amazing, but I'm having some real problems trying to run this. I'm using the latest version of Glide64 and I've been messing with the configuration a lot. I have all of the texture files in the right place as well. Problem is I can't seem to get it to run all of the textures, leaving me with only the game textures loading while the the start menu and the title screen are still the n64 version. It seems like the map screen loads slightly, but that's all. This is rather annoying as you can imagine.

Does anyone have any advice about the proper Glide 64 settings or insight as to why this might be happening?

-edit-
It seems that i fixed the problem of the start menu and title screen, however, the buttons on the HUD ( A button, B button, and the C buttons) don't look right. They are kindof puzzley looking, im not quite sure how to explain it. It Also seems that water is completely clear for me, which turns out to be very confusing lol.

any ideas?

SteakMan, try using Glide Napalm 1.22. I've had some issues myself using Napalm WX, but with 1.22 it works perfectly. However, I use OS X and am running Project64 in Wine, so it's certainly possible that there are other factors at work. You may want to try it anyway, though.

Make sure "alternative CRC calculation" is off for best compatibility. Also, you can make the water appear correctly by enabling "use alpha channel fully."

I finally found some time to check this pack myself. And I was not disappointed. Very, very good work! I did not check it throughout, just loaded my savestates and run a little. What I've seen was great. Snow levels look amazing, probably the best picture I've seen on my Voodoo. Water effects are great. There are a lot of nice details everywhere. The only thing I can't get used to is Link's new eyes :)
The pack is a good reason to re-play this game - I played it yet in 2002 with very early versions of Glide64. Thanks and respects to the author for his titanic work!

PS. I noticed only one glitch: when camera is used, Snap text on the button is not hi-res.

Wondering if anyone has the know-how to make a HUD "wind waker/twilight princess" style gameshark hack that rearranges the a, b, and c buttons like was made for OoT way back.

I was wondering the same thing about the HUD when I was making this pack. I would love a code like that. On a similar note I took to using a code I found online that changed transition effects from simple fade ins and outs to a full triforce animation. It really was quite the sight.

Also, I have recently discovered a nifty little driver called iz3d that allows directx games to be run in anaglyph 3d. It's a shame the plugin I tailored these textures for does not support directx, but I managed to get a large amount of the textures to load with the latest rice plugin. I have to say it looks quite amazing, I would highly recommend giving stereoscopic 3d a try, even if some of the textures won't load properly. Keep in mind anaglyph is the poor man's 3d, but it's still engaging.

This actually reminds me of something I thought was off when I was making this pack. I noticed that with the rice plugin most textures do not dump, and many textures simply refuse to load even if they were miraculously dumped. Is there a setting, method, or completely different plugin that I am somehow missing? If there's something useful that I don't know about this situation I would be very appreciative of any new information about this.

Are you talking about the latest 1964 build? If so, they fixed it so only textures not in the hi res folder get dumped to end all of the duplicate texture problems that we used to have.

Actually I used project64 to make the textures. I've taken to using 1964 lately since it doesn't crash/bluescreen as often as PJ64 does. I'll check how 1964 dumps textures sometime. Hopefully it will allow me to change my textures over to the rice plugin for directx use. On the subject; does anyone happen to know the best rice plugin frame buffer settings for zelda games?

I've been playing with this pack for a few hours now - I don't have any savestates so I just began from the beginning, quite tempted to play it all the way through. Great job building these textures. I haven't really picked up MM since I was a student when it came out :D

Thanks everyone for downloading and using this pack. Asking for some very specific feedback here: has anyone played through the Gerudo Pirate Fortress with this pack? I remember when I was working on that area and I had a lot of trouble with that place. Some textures would randomly stretch or skew, and I never did find a fix for it. It was only about 4 or so textures, but I remember it being very noticeable and annoying. Has anyone else encountered this?

Edit: I actually replayed this game about a week ago, and found that the glitches with Gerudo Fortress were minimal.

First of all I want to thank you for your hard work on this, it's great.

One thing, though - I'm using the Glide 64 'Napalm WX' release 1 plugin which I think is the newest one and there are some frame rate issues. In clock town for example, right when you're coming out of the tower the FPS drops from 60 to about 40. It isn't because of the textures since it does the same thing even without the high res textures. Is there something in the Glide64 configuration I can change to fix this? Windows 7 64bit by the way. I can post other specs if needed. Thanks in advance.

Go to your Project 64 folder and then click on the Plugins folder, then create a folder titled "hires_texture" without the quotes, then go into that folder and and make another new folder titled "ZELDA MAJORA'S MASK" without the quotes, of course. Now take the extract the file you downloaded here to "Plugins> hires_textures > ZELDA MAJORA'S MASK." Now that part is all done, on to step three. Get yourself a new video plugin, Rice's Video Plugin or Glide64'll do, but I prefer Rice's, so I'll tell you how to do it with that one. Go into Settings with Project64, then change your graphics plugin to Rice's Video Plugin, I use Mudlord's Rice Video Build 6.1.4, but it doesn't really matter, I'm quite sure all Rice Video plugins have the same configuration layout. Well, now go to Options> Configure Graphics Plugin... now, you should start on a tab that says "General Options," if not, go to it. Now, uncheck the box that says "Hide Advanced Options." Now that that's done, you should be able to activate hires textures now! Yay! Now go to the "Texture Enhancement" tab directly above "General Options," and then check the box that says "Load hi-res textures if available." Now just load your Majora's Mask rom up and enjoy the textures!
Although this game is best loaded with Glide64 "Napalm," I use Rice because it has my native resolution. I could also walk you through Glide64 if you'd like.

@Hellraiser465: I would like to get it work with the Glide64 Napalm Plugin, because it seems to be able to render everything, which Rice's doesn't. For example, the Lens of Truth or the Bombers Notebook can't be seen with the Rice Plugin! I've got the Glide64 "Napalm WX" Plugin from the 3rd of April 2011. I selected that it should use hires textures in RICE format (and I put the textures in the folder you wrote down here), but it doesn't load them!

Hmmm... I'll get right on that, I'll give you a step by step walk-through when I figure out what your problem is, but be patient until then.
Edit: Ah, your problem might be that you created a folder named "Plugins" when the correct name would be "Plugin," which should already exist... but I doubt it, I'll look further into it.
Edit 2: If you've got the right path it should work, because you did everything correctly... but be sure to uncheck the box next to "Alternative CRC calculation." And you should be all set after that, oh and the path should look something like this.

Hmm this may not be the problem, I've got it in the folder Plugins\hires_textures\ZELDA MAJORA'S MASK. I'm using 1964, by the way :-). I checked hi-res textures in the Plugin and enabled the Rice format and checked Alternative CRC calculation and Compress texture cache. I also unchecked Alternative... but it didn't make a difference. So I'm using 1964, I put the most recent Glide64 Napalm plugin with wrapper and the hires pack in the right folders and set the hires function on... what can be wrong?! Thank you in advantage ;-)

Okay, maybe I need to tell you the whole story. Normally I'm playing Majoras Mask with PJ64, using bluedart's texture Pack with the Rice Plugin. But I recognized, that I cannot see the Bomber's Notebook and that's why I'm trying to get it work with the Glde HQ Plugin. But on PJ64, the GlideHQ Plugin crashed the emulator, so I tried to use the Step-To-Step by nominal in this thread: http://www.emutalk.net/threads/52686-Glide-64-Crashes . But I fail already in loading the hi-res textures in 1964. All in all, his manual sounds like it would work (copying the texture-cache folder of 1964 in the P64 folder to solve the crash-problem), but I don't even make it to load the hires textures...

edit: FINALLY GOT IT!!! I wrote my solution here: http://www.emutalk.net/threads/52686-Glide-64-Crashes

I've been trying to use this texture pack for some time now, but I can't seem to get all of the textures to load. Some of them will, such as Link's texture, the hearts, the magic bar, the minimaps and a bunch of other ones. However, none of the items or masks have high res textures.

I'm using PJ64 1.7.0.49 with the latest version of Glide 64 Napalm WX and 1964Video. These are the settings I'm using:

Yeah megaupload will be a pain sometimes, as will mediafire. I uploaded it to ge.tt here: http://ge.tt/9BNQS77

You may have trouble with that link in firefox, but it works fine in IE9. Just a heads up.

I need help, I've tried absolutely everything, both from this thread and google searches, I just can't, and I mean, CAN'T, get this damn thing to work.

Sometimes it loads some textures but not all, sometimes it crashes, sometimes it gives a null error, sometimes it just gets stuck loading a certain texture and that's it. I've tried every single plug in I can think of, 1964 community plug in (loads all the textures from the ocarina of time pack, BUT CRASHES WITH MAJORA'S MASK, WHY, WHO THE HELL KNOWS), Glide WX plug in (just wont load all the textures or crashes), aristotles & mudlords rice video plug in (crashes every time). I've tried both 1964 and Project 64.

I need help, I'm really going to go insane. Can someone just upload their emulator folder with their plug ins?

Edit: Nvm I fixed it, or well, it fixed itself I guess.

Yes because I know you people having trouble hate retards that just answer "nvm I fixed it :)" without telling you how I'll tell you what I am using, 1964 0.9.9 emulator with the 1964 video community plug in (can be found in this forum in the ocarina of time community retexture project I believe), using open gl (pretty sure it will crash on directx). It's not perfect (it wont show the clock properly and the current heart you have will not show because it doesn't seem to show animated hud elements), but at least it doesn't crash and most importantly IT LOADS ALL THE DAMN TEXTURES.

Well, I'm using this pack right now, and it works better in Glide64 Napalm.
I have some issues, but I fixed them if I check the "apply texture comprension" in both sides of perfomance teawks, of the texture enhancement section of the video configuration. And i think the only chance left me is someone upload his cache file ( the .dat one), because thats the way i could finally make it start, obtaining the cache from an older Glide version, Glide Wx just crash every time loading the textures, but the older one kind of "finish" loading the textures (with many less) and then crash when the game starts. Amazing pack here<3. I love how everything looks so realistic just like the Ocarina Of Time Community Retexture Project :D. However, i find it weird how there are the realistic and cel-shaded textures put together in this project. It doesn't really go together, I feel that it should just be either all realistic or all cel-shaded, although I prefer realistic textures like the OOT Community Retexture Project. Besides that, once again, this is an amazing pack. I haven't gotten into Majora's Mask because it was so different than Ocarina Of Time but when I start using this pack, I know for sure that it's gonna be another masterpiece N64 game ;).

ok, I will try to say this as simple as possible.
1. I can't compile a DAT unless I have the files to compile.
2. I can't download the files unless I pause and unpause the downloads and that takes time.
3. Even if I did compiled the DAT it stands a 50% chance of breaking as soon as I upload to the server.
(And if it did work I will have to spend the rest of my days explaining to all the noobs how to use DAT files and why they can't Hack the file to add there own content.)
4. I along with most of every one else here only have so much time in a day as we work/school/real life/exe...
I have some time off of work I will try to work on the task at hand however the out come will depends on the four above points.

I am sorry for your disappointment however most of the users on this site do have real life issues that arise time to time.

Have a good day. :flowers:

Sorry for this moronic question of mine... but how exactly do I download the main files?

I went to the non-broken link on the first post (the emulation64.com one) and it took me to a page where there were 10 "parts." I proceeded to download each one, and attempted to extract them all at once, my first time trying with WinRAR and the next time trying with 7-Zip and this was the result:

WinRAR: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged
7-Zip: Can not open file blahblahblah as archive.

Anybody mind shedding some light on how to do this? Not sure if I'm even supposed to be extracting those files or whatever, but I assumed I was supposed to. (Computer is Windows Vista, 64 bit)

Download all files but only extract the 001 file using latest 7zip build.

So after extracting the 001 File and downloading the other parts, do I just transfer them all to the Games folder in Project64, and then click one to load the game? I'm still unsure how then I actually load the game. I know how to load all of the other games (the ones that come with it, Paper Mario, OoT, etc) because they're all one file.

Sorry if this is something obvious to others, but I'm rather new to emulators x) this looked pretty interesting so I figured I would give it a try.

Extract to project64/plugin/hires_texture/THE LEGEND OF ZELDA.

PJ64 is not suppose to have any games coming with it. You using an unofficial program.
Download PJ64 from the official site listed of the main page.

you will also need glide64 or 1964video to load the textures.

(I apologize in advance for not being able to put the clickable links in this post. vBulletin was preventing me, some URL limit or something. You should be able to copy and paste what the image links are into your address bar and go from there)

Okay, so I figured that putting pictures up will better help you understand what I'm having trouble with. Keep in mind that I do have Glide64 and 7-Zip.

So, I downloaded all 10 files on the non-broken link (NOT the megaupload one, because that doesn't work. I downloaded from the first one.) This is what they are: imageshack.us/photo/my-images/201/pictureoffolderdownload.jpg/ (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/201/pictureoffolderdownload.jpg/)

Then I was supposed to extract the 001 file to project64/plugin/hires_texture/ZELDA MAJORA'S MASK (my file directory) and this was the result: imageshack.us/photo/my-images/848/smask.jpg/ (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/848/smask.jpg/)

That looks right, so after doing that, I proceeded to open Project 64 (the application itself), clicked "Open ROM" and went to that file in project64/plugin/hires_texture/ZELDA MAJORA'S MASK (the file that I showed in the previous picture), and when trying to open it, this was the end result: imageshack.us/photo/my-images/685/smaskj.jpg/ (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/685/smaskj.jpg/)

I'm not sure what to do now; What exactly am I supposed to do with the other 9 files that I downloaded? I tried simply copying them to the same folder that the 001 file was extracted to, however that didn't work. Guide me step by step please.

No, the ROM does not play at all. I unzipped the 001 file to the directory you told me to unzip it at.

delete all of the 7zips now 001 has been extracted you have what you need.

What exactly was I supposed to do with ALL 10 parts in the first place? I think that might be where I'm getting very confused at. I can't extract every single one of them because when I try, it says the archive is corrupt or foreign or something like that. I don't know what I'm supposed to do with each of those parts.

NES_player4LIFE
March 30th, 2012, 00:16
the 9 unused parts are archive read files that work with the 001 file the pic (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/848/smask.jpg/) that you posted shows that you have extracted the file correctly.

have you extracted the rom from the rom archive?

I don't know where I would extract a "rom from the rom archive" at. All I can think of is in the directory where you told me to extract the 001 file, whenever I try to extract the ZIP archive, I simply get a message saying "Can not open blahblahblah as archive" and then I am stuck.

It looks very nice, great job bluedart :)
But for me a few textures and letters are missing. I am from germany, so there are the menu title textures in the old style, as well as the the texts for the items and locations in the map. The texts for the first, second and final day are in the old style, too. Special characters are missed too, ä ö ü ß. The comma is in the old style as well.
I would like to help re-texturing the missing pictures for the german language. I can dump them, arrange them in the correct foldertree and send a package to you, if you want to re-texture them for a next version of you amazing project.

Okay, everyone. I have had success with these textures. Here is what I did:

1. Download all files (.001 to .010) to the same folder
2. I used HJ split to combine them all into one .rar file and extracted it. (I believe 7-Zip combines and extracts in one command)
3. Put the files in $/plugin/hires_textures/ZELDA MAJORA'S MASK
4. I used the latest version of 1964 UltraFast
5. I used the latest version of Glide64 Napalm WX (Use the settings described in the first post)
6. Voila, textures all load and plays perfectly

This is just a possible solution to some people's problems. For some reason, Project64 would crash while loading the textures.

I don't know how the filenames are being used/generated, but I did just use advpng and the file size was able to be reduced by ~14.4MB. If you wanted me to, I could upload the new one to somehwere so that you can have less bandwith used when people download from your site, I tried the emutalk links but there's no password on the page, but anyway yeah. I was able to reduce the file size by a bit by using the program. It's not a lot, but I'm sure every bit helps. Also thanks to everyone who made this awesome texture pack.

But now I have a new problem arise, After I finally downloaded the texture pack, placed it in the correct folder, the textures just won't load. I see the "texture loading" screen, but it loads .4mb for half a second then it plays the normal textures. I know i'm doing it correctly because I have the OOT Community texture pack and it works perfectly every time. I have the textures in PJ64\Plugin\hires texture\ZELDA MAJORA'S MASK and same goes for THE LEGEND OF ZELDA. I can get Djipi's Cell Shaded .dat textures to load, although i really don't like the cell shaded look (ares are so bland). Hello, I would first like to congratulate the creator for the amazing work he has put in this project! There are, however, two things I have noticed, one minor and one major, and I thought I should point them out for any future versions of this texture pack:
1) After you hit the very first Owl Statue with your sword, in Clock Town, when you go to the West part of the town, if you look back, you can see the screen that takes you to the South part again. In it, the statue looks untouched. I guess Nintendo just made a static picture for that, so I don't know if it can be solved.
2) This one is pretty major, and I think it can be solved. At the part where you first try to go to the swamp area, there's a cutscene where Tatl looks at an old drawing she, Tael, and Skull Kid drew, on a tree bark. That said drawing is absent from the tree bark, and since it is actually a part of the storyline, I thought I should point it out.

Thanks again, and keep up the amazing work!

I Am Not working on this pack nor do I intend to, but
would you mind posting a save state of both issues?

PetrucciJohn
April 9th, 2013, 21:01
About the first, yes, I can easily do it tonight. About the second... Well, I didn't keep any, but if you try to progress in the story, you will find it. I might do it during the weekend on a separate file, though. Also, that's a kinda non related question to the texture pack, but definitely related to Majora's Mask.

It looks like my lens of truth partially works. To explain: While it does show objects that are hidden behind invisible walls, etc, it also renders stuff like ice cubes, White Boes (I can only see their eyes when lens of Truth is on), Stray Fairies, etc. It is a minor issue, but worth mentioning nevertheless. I am using Glide WX Napalm and the USA version of MM, FYI. Thank you for any upcoming answers! I shall post a save state for the 3rd problem, if needed.

Edit: Unfortunately, even though I uploaded the save states to a share site (2shared), I cannot post them here. Any other ways of uploading them?

I have just tried the 10th Anniversary Glide64 and Project64 v1.6 crashes when I try to open Majora's Mask. I guess I'll have to stick with my current version.

By the way here's the issue with the Owl Statue in Clock Town, http://www.2shared.com/file/BkLGTZ46...S_MASKpj2.html (http://www.2shared.com/file/BkLGTZ46/ZELDA_MAJORAS_MASKpj2.html)

And here's the third issue with the lens of Truth (try looking at the ice "cubes" that block your way to various doors, or try looking at the White Boes and it works like mine, you will only be able to see their eyes, when the lens is on. http://www.2shared.com/file/zXAGuTOu...S_MASKpj1.html (http://www.2shared.com/file/zXAGuTOu/ZELDA_MAJORAS_MASKpj1.html)

One hell of a texture pack you made, Bluedart, and kudos for everyone else that chipped in on it! I've read every article on this thread about getting your texture pack to work for MM, and I'm still in the loop on getting all of them to load for me. I'm using pj64 1.6 and I was using the glide64 napalm wx 1 that you suggested, but since I've been having trouble getting it to work, I've used a bunch of other plugins, but to no avail. I have everything in the right folders and all the settings for using the textures is correct and whatnot, so I'll save time by saying that's not my issue. One thing I did change was the name of the folder for the MM textures, instead of leaving it as ZELDA MAJORA'S MASK, so only some of the textures would load. I changed the name back to the original, then pj64 would attempt to load the textures until it crashes at approximately 5,181 textures. I'm basically wondering if anyone else has had this exact crash occur, and looking for assistance please and thank you.

Thank you for the settings! I made the Lens of Truth work through painstakingly long trial and error, but I know they will come in handy for the future.
