You're using Project64 1.6, right? Or, at least, not 1.4 or lower?

Yep. I had the same problem, too, ever since I reinstalled my drivers. No Project64k for me.

I just prefer the keyboard. Gives a new feel for N64 gaming.

its kind of annoying the d pad + my left analog stick are the same buttons i guess and the right analog is the same buttons as the sqaure circle x and triangle >.<

That's not possible. Jabo's DirectInput doesn't support having the same key assigned to different buttons. In fact, most input plugins do have a problem with that. The ones that don't are N64 VirtualPad and N-Rage's DirectInput plugins.

You need to configure your controls first. Choose "Configure Controller Plugin..." command from the Options menu in Project64, and decide which keys you want to represent which N64 controller buttons.

Right, and did you set your keys?
If so, which keys did you assign to moving Left, Right, Down and Up on the Analog Stick (not digital)?

You didn't answer my question.
What keys on your keyboard did you assign to your analog stick?

That's not an input plugin; that's the input device you're using for your input plugin.
Choose the "Settings..." command from the Options menu. Under "Input (controller) Plugin," what does it say you're using?

n64 virtual pad

Okay, and, when you choose Configure Controller Plugin from the Options menu, see the top-right of the configuration that says Device List? You need to click which devices in that list you want to enable for configuring. For example, you can't set your mouse for the controls without clicking on "Mouse."
Did that help?

it still thinks 2 different buttons are the same button

February 4th, 2007, 02:41
Okay, so you have the same button assigned to two different controls? Can't you just reassign one of them manually, or do you know how?
darkone124
February 4th, 2007, 02:57
what i mean is 2 different buttons like my right analog and square button i place either of them in jump and the other non placed one will still do a jump

February 4th, 2007, 03:00
I don't understand. 'Jump' isn't a setting in your plugin configuration, and I don't get what you're referring to when you say "square button."
You could try switching your input plugin to Jabo's DirectInput, set your Game Device to your N64 controller, and configure it from there.

Input plugins is probably the part of N64 emulation where I become least helpful. I'm sorry, I can only trust, maybe another user here knows what to say.

February 4th, 2007, 03:19
do you think its just the plugins or maybe another emulator would work?
Iconoclast
February 4th, 2007, 03:50
It's not the emulator. It's either the input plugin you're doing this with or somehow the configuration you have set for it. Hopefully, someone else knows.
