They probably zipped it to 128mb because nintendo have a habit of filling the mini dvd's to their full 1.4gb capacity, they just fill it full of junk, so if you rip that out and only leave the actual program itself you can shrink game considerably.
This function is included in the dolphin Emu.

They are illegal fullstop if you download them..... as for the rest of your post I'd suggest you tread VERY carefully.

Not all people download games, many dumping them from original gamecube. FF CC didn`t work - look to game compatibility thread... and you can`t read GC disks anyway - PC-DVD drive is not compatible with them...

February 18th, 2004, 20:15
Yeah i just figured out that it didnt work :|. So you are supposed to rip them through the gamecube the way that you do Phantasy Star Online, proabably, or somthing similar, but your not supposed to talk about it anyways. ok, but what am i doing wrong that i "Tread VERY carefully" your going to ban me?

You say that it is illegial to download the roms.. surely Nintendo didnt approve for a Gamecube emulator, you lot know, aswel as i, that if someone makes a Emulator some people will download "illegial roms." For an Moderator, you sure have quite an attitude

Emulators are NOT illegal - the Roms/Isos are. We are not here to debate the whys and wherefores, we are here to help and to help keep the discussion on a LEGAL basis.
Thanks for the compliment btw ;)

cause luigi's mansion doesn't take up all the GC disc, the rest of the data is compressed :)

So... if i e-mail Nintendo about do you approve of the public making Emulators for your Gamecube, I will be expecting "Yeah, sure go ahead... people will only be using the emulators for more bad then good"?
If thats the attitude then it would be much simpler just to play on your console?
The Gamecubes controller is designed in a way to fit with most of their genre games, which is mostly platformers.

Just want to add something.. If this is so then we shouldn't be able to play with the Dolphin Teaser, correct? It's not like we have much other option, you are trying to justify yourself but all for the wrong reasons

You can however extract the ISOs from legally owned games.
As stated above - emulators are not illegal see Sony Vs Bleem however, the roms/isos are. This is why we talk about emulators but not roms/isos. Not justifying anything, so why you are trying to score points I do not know.

Emulation is completely legal until it does not mention intellectual property of the company(BIOS for example - the problem of Bleem!) - there is no any crime in emulation, so stop bugging around that...

yeah like Modchips, there prefectly Legal, but then once you pop a bios in it and sell it, that is illegal.

Hmm... little different i think - you can dump BIOS from you own console and it will be fully legal, but if you don`t have one and download it from the net and using it in emu its illegal.

Yeah Bust-A-Move works perfect but other GC shit runs glitchy and slow.So don't be too impressed by this shit.It is only one game...
P.S.: It's realy funny that you all so scare about legal ;) Show me idiot that will buy gamecube, then games, rip them only for look how they run on this emu ;)
Yeah some guys will, but other ones no.
Of course emu is useless when u have GC. I understand that you don't want to be closed or something, but don't be foolish. There are 80% who dwnload isoz ;)

Again we do not discuss the whys and wherefores, of course we are not dumb, and of course we are not living in cloud cuckoo land. We just do not allow the discussion of Rom/Iso download locations or ripping advice.
By doing this we keep the conversation on a 100% legal keel, we are not here to discuss moralities or ethics :)
