View Full Version : Emu64 exclusive: Dolphin Zelda movie!

Make sure you're sitting down and are comfortable, preferably with a cup of coffee or tea or some other drink you enjoy. This is a moment you will remember forever, I promise. This is as big as when you first saw UltraHLE running Super Mario 64, and heard Mario shout "Itsa me, Maaario!".

Hold your breath and download this amazing video of the GameCube emulator Dolphin running the intro of Zelda. Please note that the author has increased the FPS for viewing pleasure reasons, the actual speed is much slower. I would like to ask webmasters of other sites to upload this file to your own webserver, else the bandwith bill will kill me. :)

Thanks a TON to the anonymous author of Dolphin for giving us at Emulation64 this exclusive. Also, thanks to Nezzar, vampireuk and 2fast4u for providing mirrors.

Wow, this is amazing news.. but there's an error. What program do you use to view it? I used media player, and it said there was an unknown error. What's the deal?

Movie requires divx.

The movie is pretty cool, i see progress is going well, pretty close to the original (except for a dragon, i never noticed that thing before on the original till now), after i first saw screens of zelda running on dolphin, i thought it would be interesting to buy the game and play it for myself, i think everyone should do the same considering its a pretty good game :)

good luck dolphin team!

It is someone from the icarus team working on this. cyrus64 or someone else. I can tell because they released sped up videos of icarus running also. Plus they have not updated any news on icarus so they are probalby working on this emulator instead i bet.

simply put: AWESOME. for viewing divx, the best program is bsplayer (in the windows world, anyway). there is little debate in the xvid / divx expert circles.

it comes neatly packaged with all the codecs at:

http://www.kazaalite.tk/

getting the "codec pak" and installing it (which also installs bsplayer, by default) is the simplest easiest way to watch divx on a machine that does not currently have divx capability.

also very good on that site are real and quicktime alternatives, in case you don't want HUGE MEMORY HOG BLOATWARE on your nice clean XP installation.

happy surfin' kids!

Nah, that's not it. Only reason the movie is sped up, is that it wouldn't be nice to watch at the original speed :P

That is SO impressive! :) Looks to be much further in development than next-gen counterparts Cxbx and Pcsx2, actually displaying a lot of 3D graphics correctly.

Kick ass, although the speed may perhaps not be good but it looks really sweet. :D

Perhaps the SupraHLE team could be resonsible, they have been very quiet for the last couple of months and they have very well proven that they have the skills, I guess we'll find out whenever they feel like sharing...

Jimbot

It has to be someone who has access to the zelda rom, so that narrows it down i'd guess. Or am i wrong? i wonder how they are running it like that? Do they actually have a rom? I think it's jabo. Buti don't know that much about him, would he work on netplay with pj64 1.5 or on jnes before starting a new project?

I can't say that I'm 100% sure but from all the hints we get that there are several authors, why wouldn't it be? And afaik they are running it using the iso... ;)

I'll doubt that having access to the rom/iso will narrow the options :D
Ít isn't really hard to get... ;)
normally I would get rid of files over 1GB that r "useless" but I guess I'll hang on to this one :D

Doesn't matter really. Any half-decent player can play divx movies if you just install the codec. WMP as you'd use at school works perfecly fine for all divx movies...
