Emutalk Clan

I would agree, but we can't start a clan without playing a few games as a team, and I definitely know that I haven't played with any Emutalk players yet. I know that Trotterwatch plays ET, but I never manage to catch a game with him...

EDIT : hah, a 1000th post :D

Congrats on your thousandeth post Dude :)

Yeah I play ET quite a lot, and am not too bad at it either (usually). I would like to start up an Emutalk clan, or at least arrange some games with many Emutalk users. Would be much more satisfying slaughtering those who you know :)

BTW, I'm considering changing from being a specialist Covert Op to another class, any suggestions? The only reason I am considering changing, is I am sick to death of newbies killing me with flamethrowers when I am wearing an enemy uniform!

Well, that won't happen in a clan at all, trott.

But first of all we need some members, and of course a clan-site.

Trotterwatch, my first class in ET was Covert Ops as well, but after a few weeks or so I got tired of it, mainly because it's only useful in a couple of maps, mainly Battery and Fuel Dump. The CO doesn't pose much of a threat to the other team on other maps.
I suggest moving to Engineer or Medic (my favourite class at the moment, although I get to play games as an Engineer as well, if there aren't too many of those on the team), they are useful on every map, and have better XP bonuses (Full Revive and Adrenalin for the Medic, Flak Jacket for the Engineer).

Oh, would anyone mind moving this one to the Gaming forum?

It's a short for Wolfenstein : Enemy Territory. It was supposed to be an expansion pack to Return To Castle Wolfenstein, but iD decided to release it as a standalone game. It's very similar to RTCW's multiplayer, only with bigger maps and a bit better graphics.

I hope not :) I think I will switch anyways, so I don't specialise in just the one class, probably best to be a good all rounder.

True, so what I think I will do is convert to either the Medic or Engineer class. Not sure which one yet, I played Medic a few times a while back, and found it pretty enjoyable though :) which is an achievement in itself. Though if needs be I will train up as an engineer, switching to C/O or Medic when needed.

I tend to steer clear of the soldier class, as for some reason I tend to associate that with n00bies running around firing off their flamethrowers in their own spawn area! Then again n00bie C/Os are also a pain, trying to snipe everything and generally being useless.

Well, as better players than myself have said, there's no such thing as a n00b weapon, there are only n00b players... A panzer and a flamethrower are the best choke points cleaners you can find, given a skillful player that uses them. Take the bank in Gold Rush, there's no better way to cleanse it up than a well placed panzer in the middle of the room, and then a flamethrower to kill whatever is left there. The problem is, that n00bs that join game go "ooooh, big weapon! let's see if it goes bang bang". Well, yeah, it goes bang bang alright :\

Yeah definately, one of the big damage weapons in the hands of someone good is a potential match winner. Speaking of gold rush, I always find that a nice smoke grenade being thrown into the bank helps cause confusion a plenty (especially amongst the inexperienced).

A great game though, with some great tactics making in it.

The lack of maps is a problem though. Even though the modding tools have already been released, most of the user created maps aren't that good. I hope Splash Damage ports some of the RTCW maps to ET, and tweaks them to make use of the different gameplay features in ET. Naturally, I would prefer a whole new map pack for ET, but given the fact that nor iD or Splash Damage make any money out of it, I don't see it coming.

Got to give them credit, for not only giving it away and making it standalone, but for also releasing the modding tools.

Sure some great maps will come out soon :)

Just played against the biggest lamer I have ever seen. First of all, we had no engineers on the Battery map, no way of getting into the installation, and no way of getting uniforms.

So I switch, build the ramp, capture the bunker and carry on. He then changes to engineer along with a few others, leaving me to change back to Covert Op (to open the door at the back). Things didn't work out, and we were back at square one (though I should add I was killed by friendly fire, - this idiots fault btw).

So instead of the team keeping all the engineers, they all decided to become field ops? FFS, field ops? So again I go engineer, and again I build the ramp.

All the time the team are shouting that they need Covert Ops, "A great deal of good without a uniform" I say. To which this idiot replies that there are loads of uniforms on the beach, and basically begins to hurl a load of abuse at me, calling me a N00Bie etc Of course there were no uniforms on the beach. Even at the end of the game he keeps hurling abuse, so I just left. Couldn't be arsed dealing with him.

So if anyone encounters this person, feel free to TK them a bit :) NoPpy is his name.

So anyways, anyone up for a game tomorrow, if so leave the time and the place (IP prefered) and I'll be there.

I'm in. Getting fed up of playings games with a team of complete and utter incompetent n00bie buffoons. You know the type that open the back door on Battery (as an Axis soldier) because they were exploring... despite about 50 warnings not to. Or the ones that run onto the beach with a panzerfaust or flamethrower... grrrr, should just ban the whole of AOL that should stop most of em!

Running onto the beach as a axis member is just retarded, with all that cover why on earth would you need to get up close >_<

I love been a engineer, the M1 is a bit difficult to get use to. With the grenades though you can scatter a group of enemys, usually into several piles :D

The soldier class is slightly irritating, it takes quite a while to build up the skill to move with heavy weapons at a normal pace. Although with some of the positions I set the mobile MG in it was well worth it  set up on the top of a hill and mowed down the axis team as they went for the train :D

I've decided from now on I am being a medic. Played the class tonight and not only did I enjoy myself, but I was the best medic + best fragger, lol What I like best about being a medic, is that you are not given a wimpy POS gun, but you're given a decent one instead.

Oh and when you're a medic you also don't get teamkilled as much. However I had a few complaints from idiots, for kill>reviving. They had less than a quarter of life left, no enemy around.

What is best? Waiting for health packs to replenish, or a quick kill revive with a full revive syringe. Bit of a no brainer if you ask me!

I must say that I had some very thrilling games with Trotterwatch yesterday, and got my ass handed to me when he was playing on the opposite team :)
