DK 64 Speed prob's

First of all, let me thank all of ye who helped me with the bad dump problem (It's solved now thanx to a (f1)(save) dump hidden inside a seamingly healthy one) :doh:

Now i've got a new problem, DK 64 is lagging like hell and sometimes hangs up, is there anyway to fix this??

what are the best settings and plugins for this game?

I don't think there are any "best" settings for DK64. The game is just buggy. Rice mentions some of its unique problems in this (http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12893) thread. That said, I've found it to be smoother in 1964, but not without other problems.
