i would really appreciate it!!!

Doomulation

?????????????????????????
Oh my what a lovely text, isn't it? I even see a "1" instead of a "!" and big bold text as well...
and no error description...and I see that when he needs an "expert" he goes here instead of the official board....hm.

Really, wouldn't it just be easier to post a problem than asking for an expert?

That Damn Good
You need to get an ips patcher. You can get one from zophar.net. Once you have the patcher, you open it up and then you select the patch and the game to patch it.

The patch file name should be the same as the ROM's, except the extension.

So say the ROM was titled 'Tales of Phantasia.smc', the patch would be 'Tales of Phantasia.ips'. ZSNES will automatically detect and load the patch if the file names are the same.

Well, thats exactly the problem!
You see, i did that, and it said that i couldnt rename it with the same name... and by the way, the japanese patch;s name is: top_jap and the english patch's name is: dejap_top_eng_final_12
... i keep them both in the same document...oooo!!! and have the pair in as a SRM, a FIG and a Winzip file.... (all of them in the same file)
So, what should i do?
What do you think i should do???

Well, it is one of if not the best game on the SNES...

Soft IPS patching is easy, just name the files accordingly (in the same directory):

Tales of Phantasia (J) [!].fig [Your Rom]
Tales of Phantasia (J) [!].ips [The patch you downloaded]

Basically what Tag said. The files should have different file extensions so you can have them called the same thing.

The SRM file is your save file- it is irrelevant to the patching process.

And don't use annoying fonts and sizes! It makes your posts hard for me to read.

I say absolutely, I think that Tales of Phantasia is a great RPG, I recommend it to anyone in the emulation community. Tales of Phantasia, it may be non-square and non-enix, but it is still in the league of their games. Tales of Phantasia is a 48 MBit cartridge, that is higher than any game released any other time, only Tales of Phantasia and Star Ocean (not fully translated yet, still:( )are 48Mbit and they were only released in Japan (unless there is another 48Mbit cartridge I dont know about).

I recommend unzipping everything. Then follow my or Tags instructions. You can't zip files up willy-nilly as it won't work ie.

Zip containing the rom + patch with different names for the files = No worky

Zip containing the rom + patch with the same name for the files = No worky (IIRC)

Zip containing the rom + unzipped patch renamed to the filename of the zip but not the rom inside = No worky

BUT:

Zip containing the rom + unzipped patch renamed to the filename of the rom inside the zip = WORKY!

Unzipped Rom + unzipped patch with the same name for the files = WORKY!

Hope you can understand what I'm getting at there. I have attached a picture that should make it blindingly obvious, which you should be able to comprehend. Cast your eyes downward!

Edit:

The Far East of Eden Zero games are 40mbit as is Dai Kaiju Monogatari 2. Both use a Real Time Clock too. These are bigger than most games. FEOEZ requires the huge-ass graphics pack because of the SP7110 chip and DaiKai needs to be played in Snes9x/ZSNES WIP because it uses a weird format.

The whole thing is in English except some of the attacking voices, but it does not matter that much. Just MSN me. I think it is in my profile. Technically that is a ROM request but just try not to do that again, I will let it by since your patching isnt working.
