well...i'm using 1964 0.99 with direct64 0.5 alpha....and i see all in gray scale..(sry for my english :S i'm chilean)

Pentium 4: 1.5ghz
1 GB RAM
Video card: Nvidia Geforce 4MX 440

seems your video card might not have pixelshaders or not pixelshaders 2.0 but i dont know much of nvida cards.

have you downloaded the latest driver for your card?

Yeah, GF 4 MX are one of the crappiest card ever, buy a new card or use Glide! I would recommend buying a new card!
