Zelda OoT: Lens of Truth useless! Help?

My game is playing really great, but I just got the Lens of Truth, and while it's perfect for making invisible objects appear, it's not making fake objects disappear. I have no idea how I'm going to be able to navigate the Shadow Temple (not to mention the nastier sections of the Well) if I can't tell where the drops-of-infinite-downitude are hidden!

I've tried changing every single video option there is, but nothing solves the problem. And I've tried navigating in wire-frame, but it's not much easier to tell where I'm going when EVERYTHING is see-through.

Please Help!

hmm... its impossible for the lens of truth to show hidden objects, but not hide fake....

unless your video card can't handle transparencies.

First of all, system specs:

Windows XP, GForce FX Go5200video card, 32MB RAM... I can be more specific, but I don't really know what to look for.

Now, screenshots:

Like I said, invisible objects (hidden trunks, etc.) show up just fine, but invisible ones, like the wall below, just WONT go away.

But it's not that my system can't handle transparencies. As you can see below, transparent objects are perhaps a little TOO transparent. Also, I don't know if it's part of the problem, but shiny surfaces all look white-ish.

Finally, (and this may be a clue) I noticed that invisible objects don't disappear outside the edge of the Lens "zone" (highlighted in pink) like they should.

ahh ok this is a transparencies problem, probably becoz of such low video memory, if you can get into the bios, increase the shared memory to 64mb, certain features are disabled via Dx depending on how much video memory the chip has to access.
