Zelda Ocarina of Time freezes often while playing

Hi I have a problem with my Zelda game. whenever I play it freezez often. I am notexactly sure how to fix it either. Is there anyone that is having problems like that? does anyone know how to fix it. I'm running it off of a a laptop and that over 86.7gb of free memory. I have Windows Xp Home edition

Video Card: Nvidia Geforce Go 6600
Sound Card: SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio

I'll be playing the game and everything will just stop. character won't move, music stops sometimes the screen will go black other time the screen won't go black just the picture hangs and so does the music
