Zelda 64 diving problems!?!?!?!?

I got the scale that lets me dive deeper, to 3 i think. When I try to dive it only goes to down to one like I don't have the new scale I got from the diving game. I have to get the bottle out of the lake to get to the next level but I can't since I can only dive to one. Does anyone else have this problem. Is there anyway of fixing it. I played it 2 times and each time it won't let me dive deeper and I used more than one rom to see if that was the problem.

You have to hold the A button. (Or whatever you have it set to that is)You can't just tap it, that was my problem in the real game.

The silver scale doesn't let you dive for 3 seconds, it let's you dive for 6.:colgate: And the golden scale let's you dive for 8 seconds.

OK, I've tried to re-create a similar problem with no avail. I did, however, run into a cheat that doesn't allow you to go beyond 1 when diving... "Infinite Rupees" If you're using, stop using the cheat and load a save from before you started using it.

You might want to stop by and read up some things in PJ64Cheats... I remember seeing something similar to this there, might be the key to solving your problem. If you use cheats, make sure to stop by PJ64Cheats every now and then to make sure you have the latest, stable cheats.

If you're having any other problems when cheating, you might want to ask yourself if it's being caused by a cheat or not, there's a fine crew there, so, they should be able to help. Has to be cheat related though

i just used the cheat to get the silver scale and it worked so i'm happy now. and yeah it let me dive to 6 .

He said he cheated, but the official way is to go to Zora's domain and get to the very top past the king to see a lone Zora. Speak to him to start the rupee collecting mini-game. Collect all rupees, talk to him again to get the silver scale.

Where?

I want the cheat I have the same problem as him. It shows it under my menu but it's greyed out. I did the diving game and got it just fine it just still shows me at one.
