Hello, you are apperently a newbie of Emutalk

I'm here to help you with Jabo's GFX renderer plugin,
but first, I'm required to know what PC specs
(motherboard, processor, RAM, sound card and video card)
you have.

What hardware did your older PC have and
what newer PC hardware do you have?

If you have a GeForce2 MX video card, the Z-buffer error
shall not be occuring, thus a Detonator driver problem,
DirectX problem and/or AGP driver problem at the least.

athlon XP 1700+. trust me, it can handle the emulator and all its games. and oh, lots and lots of ram.
direct x7. i dun need sound, so sound card shouldnt be a problem

so how do i fix the uh, detonator error or direct x error?

You are missing other info about your PC specs

I'm required to know what motherboard, RAM and
video card you have.

You are over complicating matters, especially as the make of motherboard, Ram are not really factors in this error. He has also mentioned his video card in his first post, you then mentioned it in your first post....

For direct X go to:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx

For Nvidia drivers, go to:
http://www.nvidia.com

So update both your direct X and your Nvidia drivers, and then let me know if you are still experiencing this problem.

I'm not sure what to say exactly related to motherboards,
but some motherboards may cause the video to have problems.

I'm doing the motherboard need to know requirement for
troubleshooting.

To nightblade:

IMPORTANT:

If DirectX 9 is installed, you *must* make sure you
have DirectX 9.0a. DirectX 9.0 is known to break DirectSound
and possibly Direct3D.

Where did you get that information about DX9a from? I have DX9 and have never had probs. AFAIK DX9a was only released due to issues that 9 had with Win98.

DirectX 9

I had DirectX 9 and I would receive a DirectSound init
failure. The bug causes DirectSound to not work
unless I disable *all* DirectSound acceleration which
meant the audio was bad in all games. It caused
all my games to to get stuttering audio non-stop
and my games started jerking, thus I needed to get
DirectSound acceleration to work again.

This was with my SoundBlaster Audio PCI 128.

No, you shouldn't. Generally, the only thing that requires admin power is that of which modifies the registery, installs stuff that integrates into the system and such.
So, no, it shouldn't require administrative powers.
