ok this is gonna be a junior varsity question im sure, but im n00b status at the whole emu thing, so bare with me. anywho, heres the problem i keep getting. anytime i try to so much as open pj64, it gives me this error message:
_________________________________________
Graphics Error

Direct3D failed to initialize your HAL device
make sure you have a properly configured
3D graphics card compatible with Direct3D 6.0

so i thought it may be the plugin, so i just switched it, which would be the obvious thing to do. but then i get hit with this error message:
_________________________________________
Graphics Error

Direct3D failed to initialize
Error code: 8876086C
D3DERR _INVALIDCALL
_________________________________________

im not sure what to do...should i just give up...it may be my comp specs, theyve got to be the worst to grace this forum in its history im sure. here they are:

Windows XP Pro sp2
AMD Athlon XP 2800+
2.08 GHz, 224 MB Ram

i know nothing about computers...but i know for sure this isnt as good as it can/should be. any help would be apreciated.

thanks

Make sure you have an up-to-date installation of DirectX and your graphics card drivers. If the problem persists we'll have to know what graphics card you're using to be of any help.

things to do

Disable all Java based applications or applets (Azureus, etc)

Make sure you have a D3D supporting chip, to do so, run DxDiag and check the graphics/disply tab, and test the D3D features.

if any of these fail, pls make not of the error code that is given and post it here,

try downloading updated drivers for the chip.
