Help! This has happened numerous times in the past, and I've usually been able to solve it by deleting, re-downloading, and re-installing PJ64 and the Rice plugins. Not this time...
After using some hi-res textures (characters and the ROH arena) and deleting them because of bugs, I now find that whenever I go to select a hi-res portrait in edit mode, one of two things happens:
1. Half of the portrait is cut off, the remaining half is stretched to fill the space, and is obscured by yellow bars running horizontally across it.
2. The other portraits disappear, entire wrestler models disappear, et cetera.
Sometimes, after exiting edit mode, many objects begin to disappear, until the screen is almost blank. Eventually, this message always comes up:
>>The instruction at "0x77f82e55" referenced memory at "0xffe08b61". The memory could not be "read".
Click OK to terminate the program <<
As I said, I tried re-installing everything (including the ROM itself) and the problem persists. What can be done?
