will my game restarts when downloading a new ROM ?

hi, so i installed project64 to play the legend of zelda majora's mask , it was working fine , until one day one of my family members deleted the ROM from both pc and recycle bin :/
i tried to get it back using a restoration program.. but i didn't find it i really made a big advance in the game so now will i restart from the begining if i install a new ROM ? (i still have project64)

Well, if you still have your save file, then you don't have to start from the beginning. If the entire Project64 folder got deleted along with the ROM image, then you're out of luck.
