why is majoras mask going slow when i put on cheats????

Why does majoras mask go slow when i put a cheat on and i have to reinstall pj64 (1.5) to make it work normal again
before i use the cheats the game works great.
my system:
pentium 4 1.3mhz
128mb ram
40gb
windows ME

What version of Major's Mask and What Graphics Card are you using?
