For starters, you can get Project 64 here:http://www.pj64.net/iedefault.htm.
Secondly, you can't ask where to get ROM's (games). That's against this forums rules. As for your question of "what is an emulator", well, think of it as a little peice of software that allows playing console games on a PC. It's a translator of sorts. Alot of game consoles have been successfully emulated on a PC so far. The current projects are the next generation systems (Gamecube, PS2, Xbox, PSP). These are in the works now, and none of them are considered playable. Browse the forums here, there's much information.

an emulator is a software used to play roms. Roms are game images that are ripped from the game cartridge/CD. You need an snes emulator to play snes roms. You need a PSX emulator to play PSX roms. PSX roms are called ISO's. Some PSX emulators can run the actual psx CD off your cd-rom drive. There are emulators for almost every gaming consoles, N64, Arcade, SNES, Nintendo, Sega, etc.

Dictionary.com says this about the word "Emulator":

1. To strive to equal or excel, especially through imitation: an older pupil whose accomplishments and style I emulated.

2. To compete with successfully; approach or attain equality with.

3. Computer Science. To imitate the function of (another system), as by modifications to hardware or software that allow the imitating system to accept the same data, execute the same programs, and achieve the same results as the imitated system.

What games are there for it?

You're on thin ice, tread carefuly. I suggest reading the rules properly before you ask something that's going to get you banned. :saint:
