VMU transfer question

Is there anyway to save a game file or game download file as a vmu file and put it on your dreamcast without FTP-ing your DC and PC or getting a Nexus or USB adapter?

[Example: download game save file and burn it to disc, then transfer onto vmu through dreamcast]
