VISTA HELP: Freezes on Load

I run Vista Ultimate on a 240GHz Intel Core2 CPU with an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS video card, 4 gigs of ram, 500 gigs of memory.

The issue is that whenever I start up Dolphin and try to open up a .gcm file, it automatically gives me the Vista "is not responding" message and closes (basically, it freezes and dies).

That's.. all I can gather. It's when I try to load up Super Smash Brothers: Melee, if that helps at all.

There could be dozens of reasons why it does that. Are you running the x64 build of Dolphin?

I have that problem too on my X64 vista with the x64 dolphin and when it doesn't die you can happy because you can see the black screen with 0.12 fps or "Blue screen of death" XD

That must have taken a heck of a lot of overclocking!

Back on topic... What games have you been trying to run? In my experience, that sort of freezing can occur with an incompatible rom.
