Welcome to GameCube emulation, your computer is too slow to run an emulator that has been coded to use just a single CPU core.

Having said that, the only way you are going to get better speeds is to use the x64 build of Dolphin, but you need a 64-bit operating system to use it, and of course, a 64-bit dual core CPU (which you already have).

HINT: We wouldn't be having this discussion had you read the stickied topics in this very forum beforehand.

Yeah, it's too slow for the x86 version. Pretty much every PC on this planet is too slow for that version, except with a tiny handful of 2D games. Anybody getting good speeds are almost certainly using the x64 version.

You need a 64-bit Operating System for any reasonable speeds in this case, No questions asked. You pretty much can't avoid Vista x64 anymore legally if you want a 64-bit Windows OS, so you might as well get that and partition your hard drive somehow so it can be installed.

but if i install win xp 64 this should run smooth on my pc?

It SHOULD, its still not perfect, but a hell of a lot better than the last release. I don't know this by personal experience because I run my PC on a 32 bit OS and I'm just gonna wait for the next release, which should be suitable for the 32 bit. If not, I'll rage so hard. lol.\:D/

thanks, thats the answer that im waiting for, damn, i will install xp64 bit now.
is there a linux 64 bit version?, coz i´ve heard that many windows programs are compatible with linux too

No. AFAIK, Windows programs are only compatible through an emulator-like interface such as WINE (although WINE is not an emulator), and using an emulator on top of an emulator is downright retarded.

Do correct me if I'm wrong though.

hey

i was just doing some research on Dolphin
my computer specs are

Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 1.66GHz
3 G RAM
32x OS
Windows Vista (TM) Home Premium* , Service Pack 1
Maximum Graphics Memory: 358 MB
Processor: x86 family 6 Model 15 Stepping 13
Accelerator in Use: Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family
440DDR video RAM (weird number: laptop)

i dont know much about computers but is if i install Vista x64 (if i can: not sure)
would i get Dolphin to play games at the games NORMAL speed?
or can i play games right now? maybe im just doing something wrong o_O

i could basically play any game
but im trying to run SSBM which i get 20 fps at most

You'd get to play some games either close to normal speed or way too fast speed.

Not as I see. My desktop's got more than twice (16 for the GPU) the raw processing power, and I can play games at playable speeds: 6-10 fps mostly, 18 in scenes with not much geometry. That's not even close to normal (25/30fps?). Don't expect great gameplay from your machine. Especially Intel's X3100 (your integrated graphics) is lacking.

Rampire meant with a 64-bit OS,which makes it very possible to achieve good speeds. Of course, with a 32-bit OS, no matter what machine you have, emulation is going to be slow.

Please read posts thoroughly next time.

I agree that the integrated Intel chip is very poor, although if he manages to run games now without serious graphics glitches that are not attributed to poor emulation, the 64-bit Dolphin won't be much different anyway.
