The fucking minus world

I remember in the days of the nes, me and my 1989 third grade playground chums would always rumor about crap. By crap, I mean shit about how in punch out, there were more people to fight after mike tyson, and there was a second mike tyson fight. The crap I remember most though was the fucking minus world in super mario brothers. They always said it existed but nobody could never find it, until today. Then I pulled up google and found out that everybody else already knows about it, because some people are even more ambitious to find crap than my old chums were.

It's like "World 9" in Mario Bros. all over again... so few ever saw it. And for any who don't know, no, I don't mean the "A/B/C/D" worlds or the "*" worlds... World 9 was extremely difficult to get. I thought minus world was just a glitch though, a la certain GSharked areas in TOoT. Weird. Must bust out my SNES and All-Stars now. :)

EDIT: Incidentally, did anyone else ever get that weirdola bug on the original Mario Bros. (on Mario All-Stars) where on a particular castle level the graphics sometimes went nuts if you fell off the screen, and everything except the lava turned into bunches of numbers and symbols..? Bloody weird it was.

are you refering to pirated copy-- the one with the level select? i got that one for my jap nes (famicom). if you scroll the choice of worlds to over 8, all sorts of funky stuff happens :) anybody have a good explaination for those?

however, negative world?!? ive just read about it here.

Don't you just love the obvious fake-ness of that 2nd site? lmao.
And no, I didn't mean a pirated version. I believe the A/B/* worlds are right there in All-Stars (though that may be in the Lost Levels I can't remember. Man was that a great game...)
