Texture quality

Hi ive jut started using PJ64 in the last year and never got fully emersed in what I can and cant do with it. I was just woundeing if shoddy yextures on 2D sprites and such are just symptoms of using the emulator or is it just down to rom quality. Also if it is the case of the emulator what is the best way to fix this texture issue.

Actually, there is no difference between the original N64 sprite quality and the emulated quality, but on tv everything is scanlined and then you won't see that the quality is low (but it actually is). You can make textures look better with scaling functions like 2xSAi, HQ2X (Orkin's and Rice's plugins do support these functions).
