What's new

Suspect that the aspi driver is screwed.

Yeah here are my specs-

Athlon XP2600 @2018mhz
512mb pc2100 ddram
Geforce 4 Ti4200 64mb.
Windows 2000 sp4
Not the most amazing rig but I should be able to get reasonable speed on some games right?

well heres the thing, I've tried using nero images, daemon images, real cds whatever, but I cannot get a playable frame rate on any game so far.

As it boots I get about 40fps, drops to 20 as the swirl is rendered, then in bios same thing- 40-20 fps up and down.

Trying to play SF3:3s and it takes about 4 minutes to boot (most of which is inbetween the licensed by sega and adx logo) after that it swings between 20fps and all the way down to 1 or less. freezes frequently on menu items for 10+ seconds, and in a match I get about 5 to 40 fps, it speeds up and slows down a lot.

What makes me suspect the aspi driver is that if i use the xxx cdrom plugin I get a nice solid 70fps constant during boot and in the dc menu, no slowdowns nothing. of course I cant play any games they just read as audio cd or whatever.

I was wondering if this was an isolated thing or a known problem? anyone know what I could do? Aside from installing xp of course blergh ;)
