I have recently discovered the awesomeness of Zsnes netplay through zbattle.net!! But!! I have run into a few problems, and the support forums for zsnes and zbattle were useless to me...

1) I cant use the default UDP to connect... when i a game is started i need to explain to the other player (every damn time) that he needs to... cancel the connection>>>uncheck UDP>>start as server>> tell me so i can connect. Which seems very simple to understand, but ppl are fricken retards. This happens even when i shut down my firewall completley... The question is, why cant i use UDP?

2) I cant host games. I try and i try, always it must be me who must find a game instead of sittin back relaxin. Oh cruel world, why can i not host a game on zbattle??

3)Perhaps the biggest problem of all... i've run out of nachos bbecause of all this hoopuhlaa.

So yeah, netplay savy emutalkers... the great and valiant tye stik needs your help... until next week, saaaame bat place, saaaaame bat chanel, NUH NUH nuh nuh naa naa BATMAN!... er TYE STIK! :)

hmm, personally i like snes9x over zsnes, but the netplay was subpar. I'll check this 'snes9k' out. Still, the community on zBattle is pretty substancial. I've been on it everyday for the past 4 days and theres a steady crowd.

Also, theres a stteady Gundam Wing - Endless Duel crowd!! The best 2d fighter ever made.

2): I seem to have the problem, and it's something to do with the roms or something else

If you are having this same problem, things that should work (but dont work for my particular problem) are: Using a different version of the Zsnes: Many people like to use version 1.36 because the newer 1.42 "desyncs" alot (appearently). If when u connect to eachother you recieve this message: "Connection Successful... Incompatable Version!" It means that your using different versions of the zsnes, or indeed as you said... different version of the rom itself.
Many have chosen to d/l every version of the roms they play and zsnes 1.36 & 1,42 in an attempt at maximum compatability for online. I have done this, yet the gods of Netplay have chosen to ignore my cry and my problems still remain...

I personally have not had a problem with ZSNES netplay via zbattle.net. There is a special netplay build available called ZSNES 1.42n that's worth a try. I reported about this on the main page a while ago.

If you have a router and are having problems, then consult the Port Forwarding 101.

Is that an SNES ROM? I was looking for it on the net but couldnt find it, any other names for it maybe?

FOR THE WIN! :)

Play all your old games with friends MUCH MUCH BETTER THAN KAILLERA

By the way, if you guys want it to be "delay-less." I suggest putting it on LAT 01 when you begin playing.

Lat 01 makes it so it plays if you were right next to the person. ZSNES is the best for online play for now.

Kaillera is laggy as it connects from user to server rather than user to user.
Same with all the other "Online" networks out there.

ZSNES is direct connect to the other person!

Anyway that's all I had to say.

SNES9k also uses Kaillera for netplay. It's not that great IMO.

Hmm, upon reading your post about port forwarding Clements... I've found it to be completley useless to me because i have no router. If i did, i'm sure it would have helped me out alot. It was very well written...

It may be easy, but it's like a cheap whore--you might come away clean, but your computer might catch the clap too.

Rofl.

In the meantime, i need another solution.

Tell me what you think of it Talas... perhaps i will play you online sometime? Hopefully you can use TCP because ASS-CLOWN UDP still wont work.

This is ridiculous, i dont understand what the problem could be... not even with my N+ training. Bah! Useless certificate of crap!

A useful hint for playing ZSNES online :)

if you want to listen to your own music (winamp and stuff). Go to config, sound and turn the "volume level" bar all the way down to 0%.

Usually if you turn off music by unclicking the "Enable Stereo" / "Stereo Sound" clickbox, it kind of glitches the game or something I don't know but this is how I do it and it has worked fined for me. :)

Connecting to the server is not a problem... its when i try to connect to another player... it tries to connect to the other computer by using the default UDP protocol, I have to tell the other guy that he needs to cancel the connection, uncheck the 'use UDP instead of TCP' box, then start, and tell me so i can connect using the TCP also. Its absolutley retarded, I disable my firewall completley and it still fucks up. Its driving me to the point of insanity.

Do you have any other sort of programs running?? If so, what are they??

Anything between your computer to your modem to your wall???

Might wanna give your isp a call if all else fails.
