Super Important Windows Patch

It's been out years. I remember Windows Update trying to force it down my throat. Wonder if it is included in SP2? :O

At your service, dood!
Snow white and the seven dwarfs is really important? lol.

I have a better reason to be annoyed, why every time this thread loads does firefox ask me to allow a certificate?! no where else does it happen... *clicks do not accept ;)*

This might've worked as a joke a few years back but not very effective now, though i did think it was kinda funny :)

I prey, not pray.
I think this was a general bug that could possibly have affected more DVDs than just this one.

I remember there was a patch for windows that fixed an issue with ATI cards causing the system to crash sometimes when a screensaver came up while doing certain things. This same patch ended up also fixing some kind of issue that GTA had with my nvidia card, and microsoft didn't even mention it in the patch.

This patch wasn't part of windows update, but it was on the microsoft website and I think they included it with SP1.

LOL. That's retarded.

Also, I noticed that the web site won't even let me download it, even when I want to, without probably literally forcing people to have Microsoft scan peoples' product keys!!! Another reason why people want to stay with Windows 2000 or earlier :(. Note that the feature I just was talking about appears to be recent. Now, if Microsoft decides to go product key blacklisting happy, even if people try hard to get a non-pirated copy of Windows, may not even be able to download any update files anymore!!! I now wonder if someone who has been able to update his or her copy of Windows, even an OEM copy of Windows won't be able to update Windows anymore, because of Microsoft deciding to blacklist more product keys!!! :ermm:  :ranting:

Buy a legit version then.... you seriously can't have the rank audacity to complain about Microsoft blocking known pirate keys. If they really are blocking real OEM keys then complain to the OEM and get a new copy.

And yep, I'm writing this message using a legit copy of XP ;) So I win.

Eeeek ? Microsoft Windows update prompts the CD key ? I didn't even notice that , then my key must be legit , but how? :whistling:

You guys laugh at this but it actually fixes the copyguard error on the original Spider-Man movie when played in a DVD-Rom as well.

I was also talking about 100% legit copies of Windows being afected, too.

For example, I have been seeing horror stories about then Microsoft not liking the product key of a copy of Windows they purchased a while ago.

In that case, they should complain to the retailer, from which they will then obtain a new key with minimal hassle I'm sure.

I really don't see how Microsoft should have to create patches or use bandwith for pirate copies.... let the pirates use their own means for obtaining it.. otherwise it'd be somewhat akin to ID making an FTP for people to download warez'd copies of Doom3 from.

No wonder I don't like Windows XP, because of most of the horror stories related to activation. Most horror stories I saw were about basically being forced to by another license, because Micro$oft refused to activate thier copy of Windows they purchased.
