What's that...?
yep, theres are alot of windows applications that have linux ports. for example, AIM, ICQ, MSN Messenger (you can use GAIM for all of these), Netscape. Then you have KOffice which is very similar to microsoft offfice, but it is free. Basically, everything you have on windows you can have on linux (except for alot of the games)

redhat interface looks pretty nice:)
only mac os x and xp look better!

Depends on the desktop environment you use. There realy is no "linux interface" in a sense. I used Ximian gome for a while, which looks awesome. Now I use a variant of nextstep.

Though Eagles pic has the default ugly fonts :p

Through wine you can run a huge number of them, but its a bit like emulation. It runs them only a tad slower than windows does (lots of overhead), and they aren't ran as accurately as windows runs them.

Through winex, you can run several games, such as max payne, diablo 2, warcraft 3, etc.

Several games though are ported directly to linux, that would include the sims, all of the unreal games, and all of ID softwares games (including the upcoming doom 3). These games will run a lot better in linux.

So there's a Mozilla Linux??

Mozilla is *the* most used browser for linux (second is konquerer, which is very fast and based on the KHTML engine). Mozilla is also ported to just about everything. I prefer phoenix myself though.

No kidding?? You sure? How come?

i actually am going to consider getting linx as a secondary os, infact, i have a mandrake linux 8.2 cd, i got it free...is this any good?? and does winex have any slowdowns as well when emulating windows games??? and can wine emulate multiple programs??

sorry bout all the questions:D but winme just crashed for the umpteenth + 1 time...i cant go back to win98 cuz my gfx card doesn't supoort it and i dont have win xp or 2000:(

mandrake is up to version 9.1, so i'd install that if your gonna go w/ mandrake. mandrake has a nice install utility as well which makes it really easy. However, i have recently been convinced to switch from mandrake to gentoo, so maybe you want to use that. It all depends. Mandrake was good to kinda familiarize myself w/ linux because its very user friendly. Now im not saying that i know alot about linux, cuz there is still alot i don't know, but the choice is yours.
