You can't select your controller when you click on the drop-down box in the Game Device section of the controller configuration?

you can't use a play and charge kit to plug your xbox 360 controller into your pc o play.

the play and charge usb cable is only there for charging the controller, it still shows up as a xbox 360 controller when you plug it in though.

I am using a wired 360 controller perfectly with project64, to use a wireless controller you need to buy a wireless connector thingy that microsoft supplies for the pc. i've seen them at the local eb store here in australia. not sure on the price of them though.

but as it is, you cant use the wireless controllers with the play and charge cable.

Not wanting to steal this topic's "topic," but I'm having a bit of trouble with my 360 controller as well. I installed the custom XBCD drivers in hopes of rumble support, but the rumble area on the NRage plugin is all greyed out. I searched and found this topic, but the instructions to do everything kinda confused me.

More-or-less, where do I get this 360 official patch driver and the seperate XBCD 1.07 driver? I've installed just the XBCD 1.07 installer before, which had no results (in terms of rumble) and I later tried XBCD+, which had the same results as the original XBCD driver. The setups in both were greyed out and I couldn't select any kind of configuration. Windows itself still picks it up fine and I can use it with my emulators, but no rumble support at all. So, anyone willing to help me here?

Also, I'm using a 3rd party controller (a GameStop/Pelican brand.) But I don't think that is the direct source of the problem (hopefully...)

I'm using WinXP SP2.

So, you say if I just uninstall everything (and the controller from the device manager) and install this package, rumble support should work?

EDIT: Yes! It works now! Well, in terms of the setup utility detecting the controller. On the setup menu itself, the "X," "BL," and "LT" icons are constantly flashing. Is this normal, or is something messed up? Also, NRage's plugin finally offers me rumble settings, but it doesn't do squat (also "direct rumble" is still greyed out.)

EDIT2: Nevermind, got rumble to work (Forgot to enable rumble pack on the "Controller Pack" tab =] .) Thanks for that download for the driver!

it sounds like the setup utility file didn't get replaced properly :\

try deleting xbcdsu.dll from Windows\System32 and reinstalling XBCD 0.2.6

you shouldn't need to reinstall the controller in device manager
