Hi, Im using PJ64 and these are my specs:

Mobile Intel Pentium 4 2 GHz
Geforce Mobile 4400
60 GB HD
384 MB RAM
Windows XP

I use Jabo's 1.5 Video and Audio plugins and N-Rage Input Plugin

Whenever I play this game, my FPS drops to around 30-40 ,but when I play other games like Wave Race or Mario Golf I have 60 FPS, does anyone have any tips on making my emulation smoother? Thanks in advance!

The decent one
Majora's mask is always running at 2/3 speed to prevent you from slowdowns. Even at the normal system.

Is this more like general Pausing ? or slow when using the Lens Of Truth ?

No it is more like general choppiness, the sound is laggy, the video is choppy, not a drastic slowdown, like my computer can't handle the emulation but I think I far exceed the minimum specs

If it is still slow & choppy after that:

The try going to Options/Configure Graphics Plugin/ROM Settings/Self rendered textures and untick.

could be your GFX card is doing some strange stuff and slowing it all down on MM with SRT.

Try going into the advanced settings and click yes for "assume 32-bit." Also try experimenting with a different counter factor.

System meltdown

Hi!
Whenever the game changes to a new day, when the bells start to sound, everything goes really slow. The sound starts lagging, the fps goes down to 14 and the screen is all black. After a long time (about 2 minutes) everythings works fine. Its really a pain in the butt when this happens everytime a new day starts. Is there a way to fix this?

Two ways you can look at this problem, speed and quality- you can't have both!

Speed: Disable Self-Rendered textures in Jabo's D3D6 1.5/1.5.1. This misses out the effect so you still have the black screen but there is no slowdown to interupt your game.

Quality: Using Glide64 0.5 as your plugin with the framebuffer on (using the eVoodoo Nemesis/4.0.21 Alpha wrapper extracted into PJ64's directory if you don't have a Voodoo card) the effect is displayed but is slow. This may not even work for you at all...

I recommend the 'Speed' solution personally.

Thanx It works much better now.

jeez, MM doesn't LOOK too perfect on my PC, but I've never had problems with speed. Maybe you guys should just try playing in a lower res (640x480). It's still not TOO bad, lol.

You can also use gln64 , it seems to be programmed only for Zelda *gg*
Whilst it is excellent for Zelda, saying it seems to be programmed only for Zelda is a gross insult to the plugin.

It is a truly excellent and deceivingly highly compatible plugin.

Don't insult the work of Rice and co. . They program the plugins in their spare time and they are not slaves! They also program the plugins in most cases alone , plus , they aren't professional game programmers or something !!! :ranting::ranting::ranting:
