ShadowGate 64 trouble

Just a quick question.
I'm currently playing ShadowGate64 with project64 and have come to a spot I can't figure my way past. The scene requires me to walk SLOWLY past a prison guard, but I can't config my keyboard to walk softly enough. I've tried everything I can think of. If someone knows how to get past this part I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

Using N-Rage's plugin you can create modifiers which, among other things, will allow you to mimic partial pressure on the analog stick, i.e. walking.

Ok. I've downloaded the newest N-Rage plugin with no problems but am not familiar enough with it to make the necessary modifications. I'm sorry to ask, but I need more specific directions. Anyway that I could beg for help again?
