Saving to a memory pack

First id like to say hi, and what an amazing emulator this is.
ive been playing it like crazy, also i couldnt really get any other to work properly for me :)

anyway is it pssoible to get games like the legend of zelda OoT and MM to save to a memory pack??

Im really anal about keeping my files/folders clean and id like to keep the saves of my zelda games on a memory pack (mpk?) file, along with other games ive played like doom etc.

And also is it possible to edit the headers of ROMS to change their internal names.
like Majoras mask is named "ZELDA MAJORA'S MASK" but i wanted to change it to the proper, full name. OoT is aptly name "The Legend Of Zelda"

so is there a way to change these things?

the controller pak was an add-on that mostly 3rd party game used. The Zeldas saved to the cartridge, with PJ64 this is just another save type in your save folder. i don't really see why you'd want anything different, like hacking the game to save to a bigger save format.

yeah you can edit the header with some rom tools like RTool, but don't because it will then fail hash checks, like GoodN64 or the next version of PJ64.
what you want is an option to use the GoodName in the title bar, but Zilmar is never keen on extra preferences where they wont help most users..

well as far as the names go, i just want the files saved, and my roms to have neat clean names that all follow a standard.

like i said OoT is named "The Legend Of Zelda" and this is what the save names show up as, but majoras mask saves show up as "ZELDA MAJORA'S MASK"
and all these different names/types mess up the organization ive worked so hard to achieve on my PC.
plus makes managing things harder.

why doesnt the rom scene have some kind of standard?

there is sort of a standard, the ROMs internal name comes from the maker of the game, and the GoodNames are pretty much the "scene" standard that's the best we have available.

the way we do things now is the easiest for most users, it has many advantages such as making things like this quite easy. we also have to do a huge amount of communication where its absolutely essential that everyone is using (in this case) Good Names. Having options could make PJ development harder aswell as more complex for users.

Actually, 1.7 beta now writes states in the Good Name where available (to keep versions apart), but we'll probably continue using internal for natives for the reason above (we want compatibility across versions)

not meaning to be annoying, but i suggest someone like you would be best taking an open source emulator like 1964 and modifying it how you want, because you aren't ever likely to be 100% happy with how we release PJ64, where we're trying to cater to the majority.

yes someone like me :) i have that problem alot.
*whispers* i think its a touch of OCD.

anyway, i would gladly modify any emulator orhelp wioth development if i knew anything more than a few lines of visual basic.

i dont have the time.....or ability to learn programming languages.

so what are the differences between an sra, and a fla file for 64 saves??

is it possible to save all games as one single format.

native saves are all binary files and they have no common internal format because each game has data layout. the file extension in PJ64 is just an indicator of which type of save chip the game originally used... there are no real differences for the end users except size.
why don't we call all the natives .sav? because as zilmar just reminded me, some games create more than one save type, e.g. MarioKart.
