Saving games in majora's mask

Its been a long time since ive played majora's mask on my n64 (which is now broken). but in the rom version how come i cant save. im tired of getting through quests and not being able to save. when i reset or close pj64 and load back the game im at the same place i was BEFORE i began the quest. :angry: that is VERY VERY annoying. how the heck do you save?

You have to progress through the initial 3-day cycle to learn the Song of Time. You play the Song of Time to save and reset the cylce. If you have trouble with this, I suggest you visit gamefaqs.com

yeah i checked that out right after making the post. seems you can also hit the owl with your sword and save also. thanks a lot.

(btw, I did do a search first before making the post)
