I recently had PJ64 v1.4, and had mad it quite far in super mario 64. I updated to the latest version without even thinking of this problem. will someone PLEASE tell me there is a way i can ressurect my progress!!!??? Ultimately I'd like my version of PJ64 1.4 back if anyone knows where to get it. 1.6 is giving me major issues and i wish i hadn't even tried updating. thanks in advance

Just copy the 'SUPER MARIO 64.eep' file from the saves folder of v1.4 to the v1.6 saves folder.

1.6 is overall significantly less buggy than 1.4, but if you want to use 1.4, it'll still be on your hard drive unless you deleted it yourself. browse your Program Files folder.
if you want further help with v1.6, you need to give us specific details.

there is no save folder for 1.6 when i install

there's no save folder upon installing. I have the Super Mario 64.eep and created a save folder, but when i load the game it doesn't register my progress in slot A. Also, unlike pj641.4 when i had it, as soon as i choose a game slot to play, it says "While processing graphics data an exception occurred you may need to restart the emulator." I'm going bananas over this. thanks in advance.

run Project64.exe v1.4. check your save game is still ok.
then copy Super Mario 64.eep from your 1.4 \save folder to your 1.6 \save folder - do not get this backwards.
then run Project64.exe v1.6, go Options > Settings and change video plugin to Jabo's D3D6 v1.5.2
then load the ROM in v1.6.

see if that works

dude, you definitely helped me out.. by changing the video plugin my games run normally like they did in pj64.v1.4. buuuut. my 1.6 didn't come with a save folder, so i tried creating one, and then putting the mario save file in there, but it doesn't work.

open the emulator

click options > settings

on the options tab untick, hide advanced settings.

click apply > ok, then do the first 2 steps to get back into the settings.

click the directories tab.

make sure that the save directory location is set to
(drive):\(project64 location\saves\

for instance, mine is set to D:\Cartridge\64\Save\

You could also make a save-state in PJ64 1.4 and migrate that to the saves folder of 1.6, if the above methods aren't working.
